Today we celebrated the Creation Season and prayed: “Loving God, who hears every voice, knows each cry of injustice, and is attentive to the suffering of the earth: teach us to listen. Bring healing to our lives, that we may protect the world and not prey on it, that we may listen to the world you have created and not close ourselves off from it. Reveal to us the ways in which we have failed to hear your voice in how we treat the earth. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen”

Join us tomorrow, Sunday August 30th, 10 am, as we celebrate the Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost at 913 Second Street, Snohomish, Washington. ALL are welcome.
—In the first half of the first reading, the Prophet Jeremiah bemoans his circumstances. In the second half, he reports God's response.
—The Psalmist - clearly feeling insecure about his status before God - proclaims his worthiness.
—In the reading from Paul's letter to the Roman Community, we hear one of Paul's great exhalations on behalf of genuinely faithful behavior.
—In the Gospel reading Matthew describes Jesus first talking about the fate that would likely await him in Jerusalem, followed by Peter's response

The Collect of the Day: O God, we know that it is only when we recognize your Son Jesus as the true source of all joy, all happiness, and all peace that we find our identity as his followers. Open our eyes to this truth, that we may continue together, with him at our side, as we journey home to you. We ask this in his name.

Join us THIS SUNDAY, August 23rd., 10AM to celebrate the Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost at St, John;s Episcopal Church, 913 Second Street, Snohomish, Washington. ALL are welcome.
—In the first half of the first reading, the Prophet Isaiah calls the people to remember their history as God's chosen people beginning with Abraham and Sarah. The second half is Isaiah reporting God's message.
—The Psalmist lavishes praise on God.
—In the reading from Paul's letter to the Roman Community, Paul invites the Romans into a humble and holy practice of faith in God through Jesus Christ.
—In the Gospel reading Matthew describes Jesus asking the "who do people/you say that I am" questions, along with Peter's reply, and Jesus response.

Join us THIS SUNDAY, August 16th, 10 AM to celebrate the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost, at 916 Second Street, Snohomish, Washington. ALL are welcome.
—In the first reading, the Prophet Isaiah preaches about justice and God's promises.
—The Psalmist begins "May God be merciful to us and bless us, show us the light of his countenance and come to us" then continues praising God.
—In the reading from Paul's letter to the Roman Community, Paul continues his attempt to persuade the Roman followers of Jesus - most of whom came from Judaism - how Christ embraces them despite their faith origin.
—In the Gospel reading Matthew describes Jesus' encounter with a non-Jewish woman who was begging him to heal her daughter.
