We have come far from the days of the “Frozen Chosen”. That said, we cannot now nor ever sit on our laurels. The Episcopal Church - the branch of the Church Universal where St. Thomas of Canterbury serves Christ - still has a way to go. Our Baptismal Covenant calls us each to continue Christ’s work of lifting up all people - ALL - no exceptions. If we are to be an example to our siblings who make up the rest of branches of the True Vine, we must always be examining ourselves, confessing our own shortcomings, making amends where necessary, and reaching out to all who are in need, oppressed and ignored - especially in our own house. We may not be perfect, but we had St. Thomas of Canterbury strive to live into Christ’s Great Commandment to love God and neighbor.

We who joyfully call St. Thomas of Canterbury our parish welcomes all.

You’re invited to celebrate scholarship and justice at the Juneteenth Jubilee!

Please join us on June 20th at 11:00 AM at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City as we gather to honor the brilliant recipients of this year’s Barbara C. Harris Scholars Program.

The Rt. Rev. Lawrence C. Provenzano will be presenting $5,000 scholarships to these exceptional college and vocational students—all descendants of enslaved people who are demonstrating academic excellence and a deep commitment to community.

Established in 2021 by the Reparations Committee of the Diocese of Long Island, this program helps to break down financial barriers and empower future leaders. Come and be a part of this beautiful celebration of history, achievement, and joy!

🎟️ The event is open to the public, but registration is required.
