We’re live! Awakening Church is preaching: Together, Filled, Rested.

Notes: In Acts 2, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit did not happen in isolation; it happened in unity. The disciples were together in one place, postured in obedience and expectation. In that environment, the Spirit of God filled the house and rested on each of them. God moves powerfully where there is unity, hunger, and availability. We are reminded that gathering matters, being filled is ongoing, and true rest is found not in striving, but in the presence of God. When we position ourselves together, the Spirit fills and rests on us, empowering us to live from overflow, not exhaustion.

️ Key Highlights:
• They were all together in one place
Unity creates space for God to move

• You heal best when you are not alone
We are called to rejoice and weep together

• Gathering is essential
Faith was never meant to be lived in isolation

• God wants to fill and refill you
Being filled with the Spirit is ongoing

• Stop striving and start receiving
Be ready for His Spirit

• The Holy Spirit is looking for a place to rest
Are you open and available

What does it look like when an entire city turns to God in crisis?
In 626 AD, Constantinople was surrounded by Persian and Avar forces. The people carried icons of Mary along the city walls, praying for protection. A storm destroyed the attacking fleet.

For the Byzantines, this wasn’t about Mary replacing Christ. It was about a people using their faith, language, and theology to say: God, we trust You.

Whatever you believe about Mary’s role, the story points to something timeless: people refusing to face disaster alone.

What would make thousands of ordinary Christians leave everything behind… and march to war with no weapons?

In 1096, after Pope Urban II called for the First Crusade, tens of thousands of peasants, families, and laborers set out on foot. This became known as the People’s Crusade.
Believing they were following Christ, many trusted God would guide and protect them. But the journey turned brutal. Starvation, disease, and violence spread. When they reached Anatolia, they were met by Seljuk Turks and were quickly overwhelmed.

To history, it was a tragedy.
To them, it was faith that cost everything.

Would you trust God even when it costs everything?
Isaac wasn’t just the promised son. His life tested faith at every level.

When God asked Abraham to sacrifice him, Isaac didn’t resist. He trusted.

He later married Rebekah, had Jacob and Esau, and stayed where God told him to stay even during famine.
While others ran, Isaac remained. God blessed his obedience.

His story is quiet, but powerful. Faith isn’t always loud. It’s steady.

What if the one everyone overlooked was the one God met?

Hagar’s story in Genesis flips expectations. Used, rejected, and alone, she encounters the Angel of the Lord in the wilderness. God speaks promise over her son, Ishmael, and meets her in her pain. Her response? She calls Him El Roi, the God who sees me. You are not forgotten.
