St. Mary’s of Smith Center is hosting a potluck luncheon for Fr. Charles after Mass on July 26th to celebrate his 30 year ordination. Cards for a card shower will be accepted July 12th and 19th and the day of the luncheon. In lieu of gifts, a monetary donation is requested to be used for painting and maintenance of the school at his home in Ghana.

“The Almighty has done great things for me and Holy is His Name” (Lk. 1:49) Monday July 20, 2026 Fr. Charles Kwame Oppong will be a priest for 30 years. All glory and thanks to the Almighty God for His guidance and protection in His vineyard. Join Fr. Charles to thank God for all He has accomplished through His priest, on Saturday/Sunday (July 25th & 26th). The 30-year priestly ministry is dedicated to the Painting of the Catholic Primary and the Junior High Schools in my Home Parish, Ghana. *Beginning June 2nd weekday Mass for St. Mary’s will be held on Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m. Adoration will also be on Tuesdays from 8:30 - 9:00 a.m. This is only for the months of June, July and August.

St. Mary’s Parish will be leading the Rosary for the Novena of St. Isidore via Zoom for the Diocese of Salina and Catholic Rural Life. Please join us at the church at 7:00 p.m. on MONDAY, May 11th in support of Catholic Rural Life. Michele Laumann will be leading the Rosary for our parish.
