Crossfire Church - Slidell

Crossfire Church - Slidell Crossfire Church is a thriving, non-denominational growing fellowship of Christian believers in Slidell, Louisiana. 1. These three are co-equal and are one God.

About God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1,26,27, 3:22 - Psalm 90:2 - Matthew 28:19 - 1 Peter 1:2 - 2 Corinthians 13:14

2. About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrific

e for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days - to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Matthew 1:22, 23 - Isaiah 9:6 - John 1:1-5, 14:10-30
Hebrews 4:14,15 - 1 Corinthians 15:3,4 - Romans 1:3,4
Acts 1:9-11 - 1 Timothy 6:14,15 - Titus 2:13

3. About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth & guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

2 Corinthians 3:17 - John 16:7-13, 14:16,17 - Acts 1:8
1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16 - Ephesians 1:13 - Galatians 5:25
Ephesians 5:18

4. About the Bible

The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God it is the truth without any mixture of error.

2 Timothy 3:16 - 2 Peter 1:20,21 - 2 Timothy 1:13
Psalm 119:105,160, 12:6 - Proverbs 30:5

5. About Human Beings

People are made in the spiritual image of God to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life. Genesis 1:27 - Psalm 8:3-6 - Isaiah 53:6a - Romans 3:23 - Isaiah 59:1, 2

6. About Salvation

Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. Romans 6:23 - Ephesians 2:8,9 - John 14:6, 1:12 - Titus 3:5 - Galatians 3:26 - Romans 5:1

7. About Eternity

People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or live eternally with God - through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. John 3:16 - John 14:17 - Romans 6:23 - Romans 8:17-18 - Revelation 20:15 - 1 Cor. 2:7-9

On Monday morning, August 29th, 2005 Hurricane Katrina barreled into Slidell, LA, destroying homes, buildings, offices, churches, and everything in its path. Our small congregation - then an outreach ministry in the Slidell Outlet mall - was part of that destruction. The 5 feet of water that flooded our facility ruined chairs, equipment, electronics, and five years of sermon notes. Years of ministry - it seemed - had been washed away in an instant. It was like nothing this area had ever witnessed. We were devastated. Many members of our congregation experienced the hardship that went along with flooded homes, destroyed memorabilia, job loses, and uprooted families. If you were in Southern Louisiana during that time, you understand what it was like. By all appearances, it seemed as though our ministry in Slidell was now at an end. God had other plans. In the following months, God began speaking to us about rebuilding the lives, the homes, and the fellowship that had been destroyed. At the time, it seemed like an impossible task. However, we were amazed at the faithfulness of God. He began to reconnect and re-establish the congregation, in spite of the odds. For us, it was confirmation that God’s hand was on the church. So, we continued to rebuild. As a result, Crossfire Church was born. Since then, we have continued to grow. Over the last five years, God has blessed Crossfire Church more than we ever could have imagined! His love and favor abide. He truly is good all the time. The Lord has brought us a long way in a short period of time, as we have continued to grow, both numerically and spiritually. We are currently in our church home at 2020 Elsie. It is a two story, Antebellum style structure, set on a beautiful, 4 acre plot of land. It is plush with culture, and the historic, classic New Orleans’s style. We believe it is one of the most unique church settings in the Northshore region. We’re so excited! For us, and our growing congregation, it is a long-awaited answer to prayer. We invite you to come and share in the vision and the excitement. God is alive and well at Crossfire Church, and

we’d love for you to join us!

This Sunday we're in Romans chapter 3! This is the big turning point in Romans - where the two words, "But now" change everything.

Up until this point, God has been showing us the truth about ourselves: we have all fallen short. We’ve failed our own standards, broken God’s law, and tried in so many ways to justify ourselves.

Without intervention, we would be hopelessly guilty and helpless. But God did not leave us helpless. "But now" everything has changed. And we find out what that is in this chapter!

Really looking forward to sharing this with you this week. See you this Sunday!

In Romans 2, Paul continues to build his case.

He’s not rushing to the good news yet. He’s laying the foundation so that when the good news comes, we actually understand it and embrace it fully!

In these opening chapters, Paul is putting everybody in the same boat: The wild and rebellious person; the moral person who knows what’s wrong with everybody else; and the experienced, religious person.

Paul is saying: none of us are able to stand above the rest. Everybody is accountable. Everybody needs a Savior.

This Sunday, we’ll keep walking through Romans as we build the kind of faith that is real, sturdy, and strong enough to build a life and legacy on.

Looking forward to seeing you Sunday!

We all have a deep craving for justice.

We feel it when something is unfair, when evil goes unanswered, or when the world seems corrupt and the scales feel unbalanced.

But where does that craving come from? And what does it reveal about God, the world, and us?

This Sunday, we’re getting into Romans chapter 1! We'll be seeing what justice has to do with Christianity and with the gospel.

Really looking forward to delving into it with you!

See you there!

A lot of people have rejected Christianity without ever really being shown what Christianity is.

Not the culturally doctored version.
Not the political version.
Not the watered-down “be a good person” version.
..Christianity at its roots — the gospel as it was explained by Paul himself.

This Sunday we’re beginning a brand new series through the book of Romans, one of the clearest and most piercing explanations in Scripture of what the gospel is, why Jesus matters, and what it actually means to be a Christian.

More than ever, we need to be rooted in the foundational truths of the faith!

Can't wait to talk about it! Looking forward to see you!

Greetings: The Bible declares strong truth
about our words.

Did you know that you can kill a relationship
or bring it to life by what you say and how you say it?
You can change your work environment,
your family dynamic, your church experience,
your everyday friendships, simply by changing
the way you speak.

You can bring a dead marriage back to life
and live a life you never imagined.

Prov.18:21 The tongue can bring death or life.
Prov.16:24 Kind words are like honey
sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.

Greetings: "Sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me." This phrase is used when people are hurt by others. But, is this a true statement?

Words have power! They are like arrows fired
to praise God, encourage, inspire strengthen, motivate.
Or they can be arrows fired to express anger,
bitterness, unforgiveness and can hurt, injure and destroy relationships.

We choose how to use that power!
Let's learn to fire arrows that cause us
to look more like Jesus when they land.

PROV.18:21 The tongue can bring death or life;
those who love to talk will reap the consequences.

Greetings: Every great man and woman of God had doubt. Doubt that runs to God, eventually creates greater faith and abundant life.

Doubt that runs away from God, can create unbelief
that leads to death, experiential and eternal.

Jesus called Peter out of the boat to walk on water.
His eyes were on Jesus! But the moment he looked at the wind and waves, fear caused him to doubt.

As he was sinking, he called out to Jesus.
Jesus lifted him up.

Doubt and unbelief are not the same.
If you're struggling with faith,
you will be set free when you
learn the difference.

II COR.12 Jesus said: My grace is all you need.
My power works best in weakness.
We agree: For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Greetings: The condition of our minds can change from moment to moment. We should stop, at times, and ask ourselves: "What condition, is my condition in"? Is the condition of our minds leading us to faith or fear?

When we allow our minds to wander, they can go places we never dreamed they'd go. The condition of our mind can deteriorate quickly and fear can rule our lives.

Now we wonder if it's even possible to restore our faith. The answer is yes!

PS.1:2 But they delight in the law of the Lord,
meditating on it day and night.
They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.

Greetings: Prov.23:7 As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. What a person meditates on every day, will direct their life and shape their future. If you meditate on God's promises, your life will be filled with love, joy, peace, hope.

But if you allow your mind to meditate on anger, bitterness, fear, doubt, worry, etc, it will build strongholds in your life that cause discouragement and despair.

God's Word is The Power Filter!

When placed in our hearts, it filters out lies and destroys strongholds built over a lifetime.

Then it constructs a Godly foundation of faith, trust, confidence, assurance, that result in good fruit that brings a lifetime of blessing.

HEB.4:12 The Word of God is living, powerful, and sharp. It cuts between soul and spirit, joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
