Episcopal Church of The Transfiguration

Episcopal Church of The Transfiguration Sunday Service Times:
9:00 am - Traditional Ecumenical Service
10:30 - Episcopal Service with Holy Communion We'd love to welcome you into our Church family!

MAINLINE PROTESTANTS AND EPISCOPALIANS AS ONE CHURCH

EPISCOPALIANS
Officially, Transfiguration is an Episcopal Church. Episcopalians in general tend to have a Mainline Protestant outlook while maintaining a more Eucharist-centered (Holy Communion) worship format similar to that found in Lutheran, Catholic, or Orthodox Churches. (Incidentally, George Washington and most of the signers of the Decl

aration of Independence were Episcopalians, as were a majority of the delegates to the Constitutional Convention. The rest of the signers and delegates were mostly Presbyterians and Methodists, i.e., Mainline Protestants.) MAINLINE PROTESTANTS IN SISTERS
(e.g., United Methodist, Presbyterian, Disciples ...) In addition to Transfiguration, Sisters Oregon has a Catholic Church, a Lutheran Church, and several Evangelical Churches. But there is no Traditional Mainline Protestant Church as such in Sisters. In response to this situation, for several decades now Transfiguration's 8:30 worship service has been organized and run by local Mainline Protestants for Mainline Protestants. This arrangement has not produced two churches sharing one building, but rather One Church sharing space and clergy while offering two different worship styles. If you are looking for a Traditional Mainline Protestant Church worship service in Sisters, please come check out our 8:30 Worship Service. Whether you are a Mainline Protestant, Episcopalian, or spiritually unaffiliated, if you're looking for a Church home in Sisters with a traditional worship format, please come check us out.
