Success is just six years old, yet she has already endured a tragedy no child should
face. When Fulani ethnic militants attacked her Christian community in Kaduna, Nigeria,
nine people were killed. As Success and her mother fled for their lives, she was shot
twice, once in the back and once in the foot.
Her injuries were severe. Doctors were forced to remove part of her ankle bone during
emergency surgery, leaving her at risk of lifelong disability without further treatment.
Instead of enjoying the carefree childhood every young girl deserves, Success has
spent months fighting to recover with remarkable courage and resilience. She now
requires reconstructive ankle surgery and a skin graft to give her the best chance of
walking normally again.
Today, there is new hope. Thanks to the initial intervention of Vans Without Borders, and
the continued support of Equipping the Persecuted, Success has been admitted to the
hospital to begin the specialist care she urgently needs. While this marks an important
milestone, her road to recovery is only beginning and will require extensive treatment
and rehabilitation.
Sadly, Success& #39;s story is not unique. Across Nigeria, many innocent Christians continue
to suffer the devastating consequences of extremist violence, often facing immense
physical, emotional, and financial challenges with limited assistance. While the scale of
the crisis has made it difficult for authorities to meet every need, organizations such as

alongside victims like Success, providing practical support and reminding them they
have not been forgotten. As Success begins her journey toward healing, her story
