Stop pretending you know which way is forward.
There is no now that holds still.
Time beads here.

Give it an hour.
Five sextillion atoms muster into one clear world
then disperse
before my coffee’s done dripping.

I want to tell you what my father said without saying:
Keep watch from the tree line.
The universe keeps no roll of the fallen.
The drop that vanishes by nine o'clock
rests inside a fern by noon.

Stand at the tree line long enough.
The needle bends,
and you finally stop asking
which part of leaving is you.

Thanks for your contributions to the Interfaith Works August 2026 back-to-school drive. We collected 5 paper grocery bags overflowing with school supplies, 20 backpacks, and a donation check for $820. The folks at Interfaith Works are so appreciative of our support. Thank you for offering local families with essential needs a strong start to this new school year.

Bring a lawn chair and kick back with our partners in ministry! Enjoy a backyard-style BBQ with fun and games for all ages. Burgers and dogs are provided, with poultry and vegan options available. **CCC Grief Support Group on Zoom**
Every Tuesday evening

Did you know CCC has a grief support group that meets by Zoom every Tuesday evening from 7 – 8 PM. The group is open to anyone grieving a loss, whether it is the loss of a loved one or any other profound loss. If you would like to take part in the grief support group, please contact the church office.

even this flower wears a crown,
fringed, tangled, and reaching in every direction.
We begin this week the same way.
Where we carry our own crowns this week,
of worry, of grief, of responsibility,
remind us we are beloved and beautiful.
