Today the Church remembers St. Teresa of Calcutta.

She didn’t wait for the poor to come to her. She went out, into the gutters, the slums, the places no one else wanted to go, and there she found Jesus. 🫶🏿🫶🏾🫶🏻🫶🏼

Not a metaphorical Jesus. The actual, hidden, suffering Christ, present in “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40).

Have you ever seen her painted on the reredos behind the altar at our St. Mark Church?

She stands there among the saints, a reminder that barely 30 years after her death, the Church already honors her as one of the great witnesses of charity.

Mother Teresa didn’t need a grand platform to change the world. She needed a rosary, a habit, and a willingness to see what others refused to see.

Who is the “least of these” in your own life this week: the person easiest to overlook, easiest to avoid?

What would it look like to see Christ in them today?

🙏 St. Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us.

This morning was our last First Friday Mass before the year kicks off, and Father’s homily said it perfectly:

“It’s not about St. Mark School and it’s not about St. Matthew School. Our school is all about pointing people to Jesus.”

That’s who we are.

Father talked about coming with new hearts this year not patching up what was, but letting God do something truly new in our combined school. And after all the new faces we saw at Open House this week, it really does feel like something special is happening 🥰🥰

Starting next week, our school family will gather for Mass every Monday and Friday morning at 9am, what a beautiful way to anchor the year in the Eucharist.

Father left us with this: Lord, change my heart, not just patch my heart, but change my heart.

Can’t wait to see everyone Tuesday, September 8th! 🙏🎉
& parents please join us for mass Friday!

Drop a 👋 in the comments if you’re excited, too! 👀 👀

❤️‍🔥🕯️ ADORATION HAS BEGUN — COME MEET THE HEART OF JESUS 🕯️❤️‍🔥

Every First Friday, our parish family gathers to pray the Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus at Exposition and today, September 4, we did just that.

Now Jesus remains fully present, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, exposed in the Blessed Sacrament all the way through Saturday morning at 8:40 AM Benediction.

First Friday devotions are a deeply revered practice in the Catholic Church, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

This devotion stems from the apparitions of Jesus to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque in the 17th century, where He revealed His deep love for humanity and asked for special acts of reparation for sins committed against His Sacred Heart.

The symbolic image of Christ’s Heart burning with love for us, even while pierced with the thorns of our indifference and ingratitude, is at the very heart of this devotion. And right now, that same Heart waits for you in our adoration chapel.

The Great Promise made to St. Margaret Mary includes the grace of final perseverance for those who complete nine consecutive First Fridays with sincerity and devotion.

But tonight, the invitation is even simpler than that. It is just this: come. Sit with Him. Let Him love you.

Bring your tired heart. Bring your heavy burdens. Bring your gratitude and your grief. Bring your silence. There is no more powerful place on earth to lay it all down than before the face of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament.

Don’t let Him wait alone.
📍St. Mark
🕐 Adoration continues now through Saturday at 8:40 AM Benediction

“I have a burning thirst to be honored by men in the Blessed Sacrament, and I find hardly anyone who strives, according to My desire, to allay this thirst by making Me some return of love.” — Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

Someone must keep Him company. Will it be you?

🔔 Share this with someone whose heart needs an encounter with Christ tonight.

🕊️ Today the Church honors one of her greatest popes — St. Gregory the Great.

He was a senator, a prefect of Rome, a monk, and finally a pope but the title he chose for himself was simply this: “servant of the servants of God.”

That phrase did not die with Gregory. Every pope still carries it today.

St. Gregory gave the Church Gregorian Chant, secured the place of the Our Father in the Mass, sent missionaries to England, fed the poor of Rome during famine, and governed the Church through plague, invasion, and crisis — all while suffering from chronic illness himself.

He didn’t do great things because he felt great. He did great things because he was faithful.

What would it look like to lead your own life, your family, your workplace, your parish …with that same spirit of humble service?

🙏 St. Gregory the Great, pray for us.
