WCC was blessed to listen to 39 mothers sing “Day By Day” this morning and then receive their Mother’s Day gift!! A couple of other mothers chose not to join in the singing but we are grateful for their attendance.
God bless our mothers!

It’s been 20 years since this family was taken from us. It’s good for us to pause for a moment to remember … we have no way of knowing fully, how this loss has affected our congregation even now 20 years later. One thing we can be certain of … God does all things well. While we don’t understand, we can’t trace His hand, we can trust His heart. The words of Stanley speak to us today:

“We don't feel like it was an accident. We feel like God took them.” - as quoted in the Shoals News 20 years ago.

Good morning, WCC family. I miss joining you in worship this Lord’s Day but I’m praying for your services! Trusting that the Holy Spirit will breathe on you all there as well as here at Bottle Creek Camp. The Lord willing, I’ll be preaching in the 11:00 AM service today. Blessings to you all!

The “Amen” has been said at the gravesite and the families have left the cemetery BUT it’s not over! The families are trying to make it to church today with the keen awareness that their patriarchs are not with them. We must hold them up with prayer. Praying for the Holy Spirit to continue comforting, strengthening and give them a peace that passes understanding.

Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
We grieve but not “as others which have no hope.”

James Gibson leaves a quiet legacy of steadfastness, integrity, and faithful service! His humor, wit, baritone voice, tender heart, and wisdom (to name only a few things) will be missed!

“Just think of stepping on shore,
and finding it heaven
Of touching a hand, and finding it God's
Of breathing new air, and finding it celestial
Of waking up in Glory, and finding it Home!”

Praying for his family - including the family of his brother Stephen who also went Home just hours after James. Their parents need special strength from the Father.
