The Sacrifice of Praise

Written 3-29-26

What is a Sacrifice of Praise?

Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

It is praising God for something before you have it.

So your loved one is laying in a hospital bed, bloody and disfigured. You pray Oh God heal him. God Is able. He can. You are praying from a place of desperation.

After you get home. You visualize your loved one sitting at your dining room table eating a steak dinner with a salad. He cuts that steak with a knife and fork. He chews that steak, swallows and digests that steak. And then he smiles at you. And you say Thank You God that you healed him. Now you are praying from a place of gratitude.

Ahh but you say, that is not reality. You are really lying to God. Let me tell you something, God knows your heart. God knows if you are really lying in your spirit or believing in your spirit.

Reminder, spirit = heart

Soul = brain

Physical body = body

Now there is a possibility that you are believing in your spirit and not believing in your soul. Mark 9:24 Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

This guy believed in his spirit, but he was having trouble believing in his soul. Because of what he was seeing with his physical eyes.

When your soul is led by your spirit, miracles happen. Spirit and soul need to work together.

When you pray from a place of desperation you get despair. When you pray from a place of reality, you get realism. When you pray from a place of gratitude you might get a miracle.

It is very difficult to pray with an attitude of gratitude while you are looking at him in the hospital. But it can be done. This prayer must be done with a very strong belief. This is the sacrifice of praise because sometimes it is a sacrifice to pray with gratitude.

Here is the punchline. This is not a formula; this is an attitude.

If your loved one is a drug attic and an alcoholic, start thanking God that he is sober, loves you, is very smart and responsible and a very careful driver.

Let’s do something fun. Say with your mouth. We have a tight knit family. My children all serve you, and love and help and protect each other. And my children and grandchildren are proud of Mema and Pappy, and they love and trust us. Now thank God for that continually.

How about this? Say thank you God and visualize that I have a wad of money in my pocket so thick it makes a bulge in my pants, so much money in my wallet I can’t snap it shut. So much money in my bank account they know me when I walk through the door, so much money in the stock market that my broker knows me by my first name. My gas tank is full, and my freezer is full of healthy food.

Here is another punchline. Praise God for what you want,…… and what you have.

I think the most intimate thing you can do with God is be born or die. That is something very private between you and God. It is really none of my business why that happened. But I will still offer a sacrifice of praise continually, because that is what Hebrews 13:15 told me to do. And so now I will visualize them very happy in heaven. Because that is the sacrifice of praise. I will do my part, regardless.

Spiritual Health

John 13:34 & 35 A new commandment I give to you (this is not a suggestion or a consideration), that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

1 John 4:16 God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgement: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear.

When you love you produce oxytocin. The biochemistry of love impacts you in ways we never imagined. The molecules associated with love have restorative properties, including the ability to heal a broken heart. Oxytocin can facilitate tisure repair. The heart seems to rely on oxytocin as part of a normal process of protection and self-healing.

God created us to love and be loved. How we love – not just how we live really matters.

Love is not a feeling, God is love and it is a decision. Loneliness stimulates anxiety and causes stress, and that causes inflammation.

Ephesians 1:6 God sees His own nature in us!

Who is living in us? The resurrected, glorified Christ, not Christ on the cross.

Mark 12:27 God is the God of the living, not the dead.

We give thanks to servers and clerks. We acknowledge them and tip them. Appreciation is part of the love walk. It works against our own sense of entitlement; it focuses on the value of the people around us. When we give thanks in all things, God adds things to be thankful for.

Gratitude has a strong link to mental health. Gratitude protects us from envy, resentment, greed and bitterness. Gratitude can cope with stress. Gratitude is incompatible with negative emotions and protects us from psychiatric disorders. Thanksgiving clears away self-centeredness and negativity.

Bitterness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. Bitterness and strife open the door for demons to work. When Christians abide in bitterness, we quench the Holy Spirit. We close the door to His influence and open it to the tormentors.

Lack of forgiveness opens the door to the tormentors. Forgiveness is not a feeling, it is a choice, it is a decision.

Half the miracles Jesus did were to cast out spirits which resulted in physical healing.

Philippians 3:13 – 14 forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,

God has an antidote to bitterness, it is forgiveness. God took the wrongs against us and nailed them to the cross. Forgiveness builds up communities. Forgiveness and justice are two different things. Forgiveness does not require reconciliation. You need to have boundaries and remember that some people need to be loved from a distance.

Depression and pessimism and related. Pessimists make plans to miss the mark. Pessimism and optimism are both self-fulfilling. They are both a decision. There are toxic effects of negativity. When you say, It’s my fault, or you expect the worst outcome, you see yourself as helpless.

The way you interpret events, affects your feelings of helplessness or motivation. Romans 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. There is no such thing as a void. Replace negative thoughts with positive ones. Faith is voice-activated.

I confess that something good is going to happen every day!

What we call optimism the Bible calls hope. Hope is a decision to expect good things.

Faith must be spoken with our mouths. The prophets had to speak the coming of Jesus so that Jesus could come! Sweetness of speech increases persuasiveness.

Zechariah questioned if he could have a child because he and Elizabeth were so old. The angel Gabriel shut Zechariah’s mouth. Gabriel would not allow those faithless words.

Lost Words

Let’s talk some more about the dead sea scrolls. What do the dead sea scrolls do for us? Well you know all the old Bible stories. You know about Adam, Noah, Moses, etc. The dead sea scrolls fill in the gaps. They are the missing pieces of the puzzle. Now the stories make more sense.

The War Scroll (that is the name of one of the scrolls) explains that the Yahad believed that, in the end-of-days, angles will be among the ranks, enjoined with us. Fighting with us. They believed their worship joined them with angelic worship going on in heaven. But this War Scroll is not for everybody, it is an operations manual for that group that is committed to their status among the angels.

In 1948 the scrolls were kept in the Palestinian Archaeological Museum (PAM). In 1967 when war broke out. PAM became a stronghold for Israeli paratroopers. PAM became part of the new territory won by Israel. Today it is called the Rockefeller Museum. And now the scrolls are in the custody and care of what is known as the Israel Antiquities Authority.

Chalk up another miracle for the six-day war. I would say God wanted the scrolls controlled by Israel, not Palestine.

To understand the scripture, we need to build a foundational knowledge of it’s meaning in its own day. So we need to do some historical research. We need to learn the backstory. The dead sea scrolls help with that.

Josephus (A very old history book, not part of the dead sea scrolls) says there were about 4,000 Essenes. The Essenes were the people that were living in Qumran,(the guys that hid the scrolls) not Pharisees or Sadducees. Different denominations of Hebrews, with different beliefs.

The lowest place on earth is the Dead Sea region. The Dead Sea basin is1004 feet deep. The scrolls were hidden in the deepest place on earth. They were revealed to us in God’s perfect timing! Now, in the last days.

Between 1 Samuel 10:27 and 11:1 there has been found three more verses.

Nahash king of the Ammonites oppressed the Gadites and the Reubenites viciously. He put out the right eye of all of them and brought fear and trembling on Israel. Not one of the Israelites in the region beyond Jordan remained whose right eye Nahash king of the Ammonites did not put out, except seven thousand men who escaped from the Ammoites and went to Jabesh-Gilead (4Q51 10a:6-9)

In my Bible we don’t have all of that. All we know is that Nahash threated to put of the right eye of a group of people. When King Saul heard the threat, he went to war. These added verses add quite a bit more to the story.

Here are three more episodes not found in the Masoretic, you can add to this story. Written in Aramaic, Sarai is trafficked into Pharaoh’s house. Abram lived under a torrent of tears, begging God for her safe return. So, God sent an unclean spirit to afflict Pharaoh and every other man in the house.

Consequently, he was unable to have sexual relations with her; indeed, he did not have in*******se with her even though she was with him two full years (1Q20 20:17-18)

Then Hyrcanos came to me, asking me to come pray for the king, and to lay hands upon him and cure him-for he had seen me in a dream. But Lot replied, “My uncle Abram, is unable to pray for the king while Sarai, is wife, remains with him. Now, go tell the king to send his wife to her husband. Then he will pray for him and he will be cured.” When Hyrcanos head Lot’s words, he went and told the king, “All these smitings and plagues by which my lord the king has been smitten and afflicted is because of Sarai, the wife of Abram! Let him return Sarai to Abram, her husband, and this plague will depart from you, that is, the spirit causing the discharges of pus.” (1Q20 20:28-29)

So I prayed for him, that blasphemer, and laid my hands upon him. Thereupon the plague was removed from him, the evil exorcised from him, and he was healed. )(1Q20 20:28-29)

Here is the irony, Pharoh is unable to lay a hand on Sarai, yet Abram is able to exorcise the evil spirit by laying on hands in prayer.

Previously, I couldn’t understand this story. I thought Abram had given Sarai to the Pharoh. But Abram didn’t do that. Sarai was trafficked, for two years! Genesis 12:15 says that she was taken! And the next verse says Pharoh paid Abram well with sheep, oxen, asses, menservants, maidservants and camels. When she was released, she was very happy to go back to her husband. Now even though the story is horrible, it makes more sense.

I got all this form the book Lost Words and Forgotten Worlds by Andrew B. Perrin. It is an excellent book. I learned a lot.

Burquah

Following the 1979 Iranian Revolution, the hijab became the mandatory dress code for all Iranian women by the order of Ayatollah Khomeini, the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic.

Most Iranian women wear a headscarf, but in Sistan and Baluchestan province, Sunni Muslims commonly wear black niqabs. The most popular type of head covering among residents of Qeshm Island is a burqah mask.

A hijab is a head scarf. A burquah is a complete veil. So there are different kinds of head coverings required depending on where you live.

Prior to 1979 these women dressed in high fashion, comparable to the way the women dressed in Paris.
They have only been dressing this way for 47 years. Not that long. Along with the head covering came a lot of other laws that restricted women in many other ways. Out of this abuse came a new group of people, the Palestinians.

And now they have been released! Delivered. Halalujah! Thank God! This is something they have been praying for. For 47 years! Rejoice with them. This is deliverance !

Locusts

Written 3-16-26

Iran is fighting this war with drones. The United States and Israel shoot them down with missiles. Not very cost effective.

We have come up with a better option. We use lasers to shoot them down. We have named our lasers, locusts.

Revelation 9:7-11 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.

Men operate the lasers called locusts. And they wear helmets.

8. And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.

Lions teeth are painted on the helicopters.

9. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.

These locusts lasers are shot from iron tanks. Very noisy.

10. And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

The stings in their tails is a description of the lasers, locusts. This will only last 5 months.

11.And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his nae Apollyon.

Yep, that is where we are, at the Apocalypse.

No, Armageddon and Apollyon are not the same. Apollyon (or Abaddon) is a demon, often called the "Destroyer" or angel of the bottomless pit (Revelation 9:11), Armageddon is the location or event of the final, apocalyptic battle between good and evil.

It is possible that the apocalypse happens at the place of Armageddon.

We also use these locusts in Mexico at the boarder on the drug cartels. The cartels are using drones to deliver drugs to the U.S. And the people in the U.S. use the drones to send the cartels their payment, money.

Who was blessed when they broke up the roof

4-16-26

Remember the guy that was sick of the palsy ? 4 of his friends had faith and broke up the roof and let him down so that Jesus could heal him? The man didn’t have any faith, his friends had enough faith for him.

Why did Jesus heal that guy?

John 4:48 Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

Mark 2:10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins.

Jesus healed that guy, for the people in the audience.

Mark 2:12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God.

You see it was for the audience. Your testimony is very important.

Before Jesus rose Lazarus from the dead He said John 11:15 I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.

Jesus told a parable, John 12:28 – 30 Father, glorify thy name, Then came a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. 29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: Others said, An angel spake to him. 30 Jesus answered and said. This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.

Don’t get me wrong, when you are sick pray for a healing. Just remember healing is for the audience. When you get better make sure you give God the credit.

The reason for the upcoming resurrection is for the unbelievers who are watching. This will be to save souls and increase the harvest.

People are watching you!

Written 6-6-25 the season of Pentecost

Life

Ephesians 2:1 – 6

You already know this, but you need a reminder.

Heaven is not only a future hope. It is present tense. Heaven is not simply a geographical place in the universe. Heaven is the realm of God, the invisible, the place of His omnipresent Spirit. Jesus explained to Nicodemus in John 3, that in order to enter the Kingdom of God, you have to be born again. This is in the Spirit. When you are born again, there is a birth of a new creature, an eternal, immortal Spirit being. And God is the Father.

How do we enter Heaven? By Death? NO! We enter heaven by Birth. Being born again.

Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death.

Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.

Same word translated. That is past tense. It is already accomplished, finished, a present reality. We are ALREADY in heaven just like Enoch.

And not only that, but it get’s even better!

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.

Incorruptible means we are beautiful. When you were born again you became beautiful!

1 Corinthians 6:19 & 20 What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own. 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Your body is the temple. Who lives and works in the temple? The Priest! Your Spirit is a Priest.

1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

Revelation 5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

It is not Christ in Heaven that is the hope of glory. It is Christ in you that is the hope of glory.

By the way, that word glory should have been translated, thinking. You think with your Soul.

So that should say, Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the thinking of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of Christ’s thinking.

I want to think like He thinks!

Where is Christ ministering? In us and through us.

Hebrews 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

What? Cain killed Abel. So you have something better in store for you. You won’t be killed by your enemy. It’s not your blood, it’s Jesus blood.

Here is something pretty concrete to stand on.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son. that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

How to pray for healing

When you pray, pray with faith and not with fear. See the outcome in your mind. It is not enough to pray. You must believe the prayer is being answered. Knowing the healing is already accomplished in the Spiritual body and therefore you know that it will be transferred to the physical body. The healing power of God moves through the Spiritual man into his physical body. Claim the power of the Spirit to heal the body through Jesus Christ.

Simply ask Jesus to make him well and then thank Jesus because you know that it is done.

When He wants me to do something, I want to do it for His sake. When you pray for someone, put Christ between yourself and the other person. This is the power of Christ love. Not your love for the other person.

Forgetfulness is a protection. Pray to remember happy things and to continue to forget the troublesome thoughts. Ask Jesus to heal any memories of fear and resentments even those that have been forgotten. Ask Jesus to give freedom from those old things.

God uses the zeal of some people, but the silence and discretion of other people. Still, strength comes from unity not division. The Lord has called on us to work for him in different ways.

We are to stand between the sinning people and pray for their healing and forgiveness and picture them healed.

Jesus didn’t conduct any funerals. He only conducted resurrections!

Philistines Palestinians

1 Chronicles 18:1 David smote the Philistines, and subdued them,

Do you remember when David killed Goliath with a stone? Goliath was a Philistine. This was a very evil group of people.

David as the righteous King had a war with them and killed and subdued them.

Let’s look at the etymology of the word.

Do you see how the two words come from the same root word? All you do is drop the h and change the I to an a and an e and you have the same word. The Palestinians have brought back that group of people called the Philistines. They have the same basic goals. They both hate the Jews and anyone who supports the Jews and want to kill them all. Both groups of people are demonic and evil.

Just in case you were wondering Philippine is a different word and a different group of people. Yes the spelling is close but after the first four letters the word is very different. Like most other countrys, most of them are good guys.

The Palestinians were primarily recognized as a distinct national group with a right to self-determination by the United Nations General Assembly in 1974, with the affirmation of their rights to national independence and sovereignty. Key milestones included the founding of the PLO in 1964 and their upgrade to UN non-member observer status in 2012.

At this time this was a group of people that didn’t have a country, or any land. They have only been recognized as a group of people for 52 years.

There have been Arabs since Issac and Ishmeal. But Palestinians are a recent thing. It is a cult.

In approximately 1000 BC King David wiped them out. They were extinct.

You see it doesn’t really matter where you live, if you decide to be a Palestinian, you just make a decision to join that group. You abide by their rules and conduct yourself accordingly. Sort of like a gang member. I think all evil thugs and gang members should be stopped. You can ride a motorcycle if you want to. But you still have to be nice.

I made a decision to be a Christian. They made a decision to be a Palestinian. I try to behave as a Christian. They try to behave as a Palestinian. That is their choice. Palestinians hate all Jews and Christians. They have a goal to kill all Jews and Christians. Being a Palestinian is a cult. If you want out, they kill you, even if you are one of them! Being a Christian is not a cult. If you decide to backslide no one will kill you for it. But the Palestinians kill someone just because they believe differently and that is wrong!

Pray that the members of the Palestinian movement will make a decision to let Jesus into their hearts and serve Holy Spirit and become Christians. This would bring peace to the world.

Speak life

John 13: 49 & 50

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting; whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

I rebuke, the storm that is swirling around your loved one.
I say Peace be Still to The fear that that storm produces.

Proverbs 15:4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

Romans 1:30 The Passion Translation

Who love to spread malicious slander. With inflated egos they hurl hateful insults at God, yet they are nothing more than arrogant boasters. They are rebels against their parents and totally immoral.

If your loved one is insulting God then, hopefully they should repent, but even if they don’t,
Rebuke selfishness. Impart compassion and thanksgiving and gratefulness. Pray that they see the bigger picture, that will change their perspective, which will result in a change in their attitude.

You are full of Life!

Malachi 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

We used to be sheep. But when we get healed we become baby cows!

And it will be glorious!
