This Sunday Morning, Phil Ellsworth will be teaching on “The Holy Spirit Revealed in the Book of Jonah.” This is not the Sunday School version from your childhood. This looks deeper into what was really going on.

We will answer such questions as, (1) Where is Tarshish and why did Jonah want to go there? (2) Why did God send Amos from Judah to prophecy to King Jeroboam II, in Israel, when Jonah was already there? (3) Is there undeniable proof that Jonah was really in the stomach of a big fish for three days? (4) Why was Jonah’s preaching in Nineveh so effective? (5) Is Jonah mentioned anywhere else in the Old Testament? (7) In the New Testament?

As Unto the Lord: Turning Ordinary Life into Worship
June 14, 2026

Colossians 3:23–24 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”

This Sunday we’re focusing on a simple truth that transforms ordinary life into an extraordinary expression of worship.

In 1 Thessalonians 4:11–12, Paul calls us into the ambitious quiet life — a calm, focused, diligent way of living and working that is not about self-powered striving or weary survival, but about offering our daily activites directly to Jesus. When our jobs, home-building, responsibilities, and faithfulness is unto the Lord, Christ transforms it. He becomes the life of our efforts. Our hands become an altar, our homes a domestic spirit-house, and our everyday work is fueled by His powerful energy rather than our own depleted strength.

This is worship in spirit and truth — taking the inspiration and energy we receive when we gather in God’s house and carrying it into every part of life as a living sacrifice. No longer building futilely just to survive, but building with Jesus in a way that energizes and fulfills us.

You can experience this rest and renewal. Whether you’re exhausted from well-doing, or simply longing for sustainable, joyful faithfulness, Jesus’ invitation is for you: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
