One of the most vital things we can do to bring God's blessing to our children is to direct our hearts toward the fear of the Lord. That means directing our hearts toward reverence and awe toward the Lord in our souls and toward humilty and brokeness before Him. This is a work of God's Spirit in us, but our role in working out this transformation is to seek to behold who God is and what He has accomplished through Jesus Christ and the response of which Jesus is worthy. Ask to be taught the fear of the Lord by the Lord, read the word with hunger to develop a greater fear of the Lord, meditate upon what He shows you in the Word, listen to sermons and read books from godly men who themselves have the fear of the Lord. Fellowship with such men. The promises to men who possess a growing and correct fear of the Lord are bountiful in the Bible. Here are just 3 passages that promise God's grace and blessing upon the children of such men: Psalm 25:11-13; Psalm 112:1-2; Psalm 128:1-4
