UPDATE (as of 3/19): Thank you for such a strong showing of support and compassion for the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging & Disabilities Telephone Reassurance Program! Due to the fantastic and overwhelming response from residents, they have reached their volunteer capacity at this time.

Thank you again to everyone who shared our post, and for caring about our neighbors. If you are interested in volunteering elsewhere in the county, a list of opportunities can be found at aacounty.org/services/volunteer.

The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging & Disabilities is seeking compassionate volunteers for its Telephone Reassurance Program to help turn conversation into a lifeline.

Volunteers will make well-check phone calls to residents in the county who live alone, but seek to remain independent in their homes. Daily well-check calls connect older adults and individuals with disabilities to the community, and can help provide their loved ones with assurance.
