Another Fasting Friday, taking a pause to fast from the noontime meal and come together in prayer.

Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with hearts full of gratitude, thanking You for the incredible provision, strength and resources You have poured into our lives. On this Labor Day weekend, we are deeply reminded that every skill we possess, every job we hold, and every bit of material provision we enjoy comes directly from Your hand. You are our ultimate Provider, and we praise You for sustaining us.

Lord, we ask that You shift our focus outward and make us truly Kingdom outreach minded. Forgive us for the times we have consumed Your blessings selfishly or allowed our daily work to become an idol. We ask that You transform our perspective so that we view our jobs, our finances and our time not just as a means for personal comfort, but as a strategic tool in service of Your Kingdom.

Help us see the harvest field all around us in our workplaces, neighborhoods, churches, homes and communities. As You have so generously provided for our physical and spiritual needs, spark a fire within us to provide for the needs of others and to share the life-giving truth of the Gospel. May our daily labor become an act of worship and may our lives be a conduit of Your grace to a world in need.

We love You and we thank You. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen!

Take some time to read through and answer these questions, either in the quiet of your heart, on paper, or out loud with someone who helps hold you accountable to yourself and to God.

1. When was the last time your time with Jesus actually changed something specific about the way you live, and what did that change look like?

2. Is there something, whether guilt, shame, or a sense of unworthiness, that has been keeping you from fully accepting your place at Jesus's table?

3. Are you more like Martha or Mary right now, and what would it look like to choose stillness with Jesus this week?

4. In what area of your life are you most tempted to measure your worth by comparison to others, and how might a servant's posture change that?

5. What is one specific, practical way you can live out your transformation this week in a way that others around you will actually notice?
