A church with no crying babies is a church that should make us stop and think.

Because those cries mean young families are showing up. They mean mothers are bringing their babies into the house of God.

They mean the next generation is right there in the room, learning what it looks like to worship.

I would rather hear a baby cry during a sermon than see a mother feel so unwelcome that she stops coming altogether.

Church was never meant to be a place where everything is perfectly quiet and convenient. It’s a place for people to grow in faith, and that includes the littlest ones among us.

We cannot pray for the next generation while resenting the sound of them being in the room.
