Father, where there has been tension at home today, lead us toward peace. Give us courage to apologize, humility to listen, and wisdom to rebuild trust. Let our Live Oak families end this day knowing that Your mercy makes a fresh start possible. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Study Peter | Day 7 of 29 — Witness through Good Conduct
Live Oak Baptist Church
Read: 1 Peter 2:11–17

KJV focus: “Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king” (2:17).

Message: Believers are pilgrims whose conduct should make false accusations difficult to sustain. Peter calls for respect toward governing authorities and responsible use of freedom. Freedom serves God and neighbors; it is no cover for wrongdoing. Respect for rulers remains distinct from the fear owed to God.

Ask:
1. Why does Peter connect inward desires with public witness?
2. What purpose does doing good serve in verses 12 and 15?
3. How can I show respect while remaining faithful to God?

Live and pray: Do an unpublicized good deed for a neighbor. Lord, make our public conduct honor You.

Study Peter | Day 6 of 29 — Living Stones
Live Oak Baptist Church
Read: 1 Peter 2:4–10

KJV focus: “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house” (2:5).

Message: Jesus is God’s chosen cornerstone, rejected by people yet precious to God. Believers become a spiritual house and priesthood whose sacrifices are acceptable through Christ. Their shared identity has a purpose: proclaiming God’s excellencies. “Peculiar people” means a people belonging to Him.

Ask:
1. How do believers and unbelievers respond differently to the same stone?
2. What does verse 9 say God’s people are called to declare?
3. How can Live Oak show that church is a people built around Christ?

Live and pray: Name a gift you can use to strengthen the church. Jesus, keep us built on You.
