Sunday – Ezekiel 40:4
“A Heart Committed to God”

“And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall show thee; for to the intent that I might show them unto thee art thou brought hither: declare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.”

Ezekiel was charged by God to see, hear and love from his heart the Word of God. In order to do the work of God, you and I must have our heart committed to serve God. What we see of the works of God, and what we hear of the Word of God, will do us no good unless we set out hearts upon it, as those that reckon ourselves nearly concerned in it, and expect advantage to our souls by it.

Saturday – Ezekiel 39:23
“When God Hides His Face!”

“And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.”

When God hides His face sunny days turn to midnights. What I have come to discover is when God gives up His people for a prey, it is to correct us and reform us, and not to gratify our enemies. When Israel reformed and returned to God, He turned their captivity, and brought them back to their own land, and, by their perseverance in their reformation, God would bless them, removing any idea, that Israel went into captivity, because God could not protect them, but their captivity was because they forfeited God’s favor by sin, and thrown themselves out of His protection.

Friday – Eze. 37:3
“Dry Bones in the Valley”

“And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.”

Many believers have been overtaken by the demonic spirit of depression, causing the stifling of your faithfulness to God. If you were honest, you are listless, lifeless and spiritually drained to the point that we actually feel like we are a valley of dead dry bones. You are in a valley of dry bones when you are incapable of worshipping God in spirit and in truth. You are a resident of Dry bone valley, when Jesus is not the center of your life. Can you be revived? Can you be renewed? Yes. By the power of the Lord, you can live again. You must hear the Word, and live the Word by being filled with the Spirit.

Thursday – Ezekiel 33:28-29 “God’s way of Bringing us Back to Him”

“28. For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through. 29. Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.”

What is it going to take for us to see the Lord, and to know that He is the Lord. With all of the devastation around us; hurricanes, fires, floods, and tornadoes. We should readily see the hand of God at work. But because of man’s arrogance man, for the most part cannot or refuses to recognize that the Lord is at work. Do you know that Jesus is the Lord?

Wednesday – Ezekiel 31:10
“Don’t Get High!”

“10. Therefore, thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height; 11. I have therefore delivered him into the hand of the mighty one of the heathen; he shall surely deal with him: I have driven him out for his wickedness.”

High-mindedness is the sin commonly associated with narcissism. The king of Egypt was guilty of the charge of lifting himself up in pride because of his wealth and power. The sin of Egypt and Assyria was that of oppressing God’s people can be traced to its root cause which was pride. When men's outward condition rises, their minds commonly rise with it; and to find a humble spirit in the midst of great advancements is difficult if not impossible to do.

Tuesday – Ezekiel 30:8
“God’s Hand in Life’s Affairs”

“And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I have set a fire in Egypt, and when all her helpers shall be destroyed.”

God inflicts His destructive judgments on His people, so we will know that He is the Lord, and that He is greater than any and all other gods. When our God pours out His fury upon a place, neither its strength nor its multitude can stand against Him. But His purpose of the fire is that we will know that He is the Lord. The things we go through are not designed to destroy us but to develop us to know that He is the Lord.

Monday – Ezekiel 26:2-3
“Be Careful Belittling God’s People!”

“2. Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:”

Tyrus was a pleasant and wealthy city, and might have continued so if she had, sympathized with Jerusalem in her calamities and sent her an address of condolence; but when, instead of that, she showed herself pleased with her neighbor’s fall. To be secretly pleased with the death or destruction of others, is a sin that easily trips us up. A selfish covetous spirit is one that secretly contrives to raise themselves up by the ruins of others.
