Tuesday – Ps. 91:1-2
“My Getaway!”

“1. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”

In God we have an inexpensive vacation resort that affords us protection and tranquility during our moments of pressure from the outside world. I read of persons going on vacation in Mexico, Aruba or to the Bahama’s for some down time, some time to get away from work or family, spending their hard-earned money, risking their very lives trying to find peace and serenity. Well, in Jesus we have refreshment for our wearied souls. In Jesus we have strength for times of weakness, and yes Joy in times of sorrow.

Monday – Psalm 85:6
“Lord, send us a Revival!”

“Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?”

Lord, send us a Revival and let it begin in me. Thank God He is gracious, slow to anger, and swift to show mercy, and will not remain angry forever. His mercies and compassions are plentiful and powerful especially when seen in light of God granting to the children of the captivity some reviving in their bo***ge. Their return out of Babylon was as life from the dead. Every now and then, we as the children of God need to make that same appeal, "Revive us again." When we get bogged down with the cares of this world and our spirit gets weak, it is a good time to request of the Lord, Revive us oh Lord.

Sunday – Psalm 78:41
“Stop Blocking your own Blessing!”

“Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.”

By provoking God, they did not so much anger Him as grieve Him, for He looked upon them as His children, and the undutiful disrespectful behavior of children does more grieve than anger the parents, because they take it to heart as hurtful. They grieved God because they put Him under a necessity of afflicting them, which He did not desire to do. After they had humbled themselves before Him, they turned back and tempted God, as before, and limited the Holy One of Israel, prescribing to Him how He should deal with them in life.

“Tell God About It!”

“1. I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me. 2. In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.”

David said I cried unto God. I sought the Lord earnestly. I cried perseveringly. My hand is stretched out at night unwearied. David said in the night and in the day, I cried unto the Lord. Because God has instructed His children to call upon Him in the day of trouble, and He said that He would deliver us. It’s good to know that our God gives ear unto His children, in fact the cries of humanity are ever in the ear of God. God graciously attends to the weakest whisper of His people. Tell God about it, and let it go.

“But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.”

"If it be bad with those that live at a distance from God, then it is good, very good, the chief good, that good for a man, in this life, which he should most carefully pursue and secure, to draw near to God, and to have God draw near to me”. Our drawing near to God is the result of His drawing near to us. It is good for me to draw near to God; it is my duty; it is in my best interest." If wicked men, shall perish and be destroyed, then let us trust in the Lord God, in Him, not in them, in Him, and not in our worldly prosperity.
