Today, we pause to recognize the work, dedication, and contributions of people throughout our communities—and to make room for the gift of rest.

The Saint Anthony Parish Office will be closed today, Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. We’ll reopen during our regular office hours.

Our September Avid Readers selection invites us into a story filled with wonder, grief, connection, and unexpected wisdom. 📚

This month, we’ll be reading The Elephant on Karlův Bridge by Thomas Trofimuk.

The novel follows Sal, an elephant who escapes the Prague Zoo and moves through the city, crossing paths with people who are each facing turning points of their own. As their stories unfold, the book explores questions of love, healing, memory, art, and the ways human and animal grief can intersect.

What a joy to gather for the Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast at the A New Leaf East Valley Men’s Center!

For more than 20 years, Saint Anthony on the Desert has served alongside the East Valley Men’s Center, sharing meals, building relationships and supporting men working toward stability and a new beginning.

We are grateful for the generations of Saint Anthony disciples who have made this ministry part of who we are—and grateful for our partners at the EVMC who remind us that service is always about more than what we give. It’s about showing up for one another. ❤️
