Building projects update!
A LOT has happened over the last week. It was time to tackle the carpet in the sanctuary! Wahoo! The carpet team spent quite a bit of time scrapping and sanding up the old glue that was under the 65 year old red carpet. Apparently it was "unlike any other glue they have come across." Naturally :). They also had a few places that needed fillers. So we had a quiet couple of days last week while we just waited for the fillers to dry. Then they were off to the races!
The carpet looks great :)
It photographs a bit more gray than it is in person. It's a mix of sandy/ taupe-y/ blue-y colors.
A HUGE thank you is needed for our pew anchoring team! We had a group of six volunteers here today doing the lugging and agonizing work of lining up the pews and making sure everything looked symmetrical before they sank screws into the new floor.

We continue to pray that God keep all of our volunteers and contractors safe!

Construction continues here at the church! Monday the painters tackled the bell tower (Yikes! That's so high! What a brave crew!). I'm delighted that we didn't have to replace any of our exterior facia or lap boards. Just some scrapping and sanding needed. I think we got to the painting project just in time :) A few months ago, we did a paint match on that dark brown (gotta keep the Historical Commission happy) The color is called Chateau, and it is actually a very dark purple. Monday the carpet team yanked, rolled up, and hauled out the sanctuary and foyer carpet. (It looks like dusty fruit roll ups in the dumpster ;)). And today Parkway Electric is beginning work on a new Loop Listening system. If you look close at the sanctuary floor you can see that a worker is gouging the concrete floor. They are putting in a trench to inlay wire. This wire creates a magnetic field. The Loop Listening System will help folks directly connect their personal hearing aids to the audio in the room. Did you know hearing aids have magnets in them? It is a very LOUD day at the church. But all is going well!!
