"We do not need to manufacture our own strength. Christ has conquered the grave, and He freely gives us His strength through the Word and the Sacraments. As you navigate the wearying seasons of life, let these Scriptures remind you that weakness points us to God’s sustaining grace." —Melody Martin

We pray to the Holy Trinity, that our God our hear our voices and bless us! Hear Christ for you at kfuo.org.

Lutheran Service Book 504

1 Father most holy, merciful, and tender;
Jesus, our Savior, with the Father reigning;
Spirit of comfort, advocate, defender,
Light never waning;

2 Trinity blessed, unity unshaken,
Goodness unbounded, very God of heaven,
Light of the angels, joy of those forsaken,
Hope of all living,

3 Maker of all things, all Thy creatures praise Thee;
All for Thy worship were and are created;
Now, as we also worship Thee devoutly,
Hear Thou our voices.

4 Lord God Almighty, unto Thee be glory,
One in three persons, over all exalted!
Glory we offer, praise Thee and adore Thee,
Now and forever.

Thanks be to God for His great compassion! Hear Christ for you at kfuo.org.

Lutheran Service Book 559

1 Oh, how great is Your compassion,
Faithful Father, God of grace,
That with all our fallen race
In our depth of degradation
You had mercy so that we
Might be saved eternally!

2 Your great love for this hath striven
That we may, from sin made free,
Live with You eternally.
Your dear Son Himself has given
And extends His gracious call,
To His Supper leads us all.

3 Firmly to our souls' salvation
Witnesses Your Spirit, Lord,
In Your Sacraments and Word.
There He sends true consolation,
Giving us the gift of faith
That we fear not hell nor death.

4 Lord, Your mercy will not leave me;
Ever will Your truth abide.
Then in You I will confide.
Since Your Word cannot deceive me,
My salvation is to me
Safe and sure eternally.

5 I will praise Your great compassion,
Faithful Father, God of grace,
That with all our fallen race
In our depth of degradation
You had mercy so that we
Might be saved eternally.

See you all there...

Each Friday, find a weekly collect to include in your prayers as well as a relevant resource in the comments below. This week, pray for seasonable weather, especially for those whose lives and work depend on it, and for those who are most affected by extreme weather and natural disasters during the upcoming summer months.

For all the people of our land, especially those who rely upon sunshine and rain in due season, that our gracious God, the Maker of the heavens and the earth, would open His hand to sustain and satisfy His creatures, and that He would defend and protect us from all calamity by fire and water, from pestilence and drought, from scarcity and famine, and from every other evil, let us pray to the Lord: Lord, have mercy.
