Today we’re celebrating 24 years of Pastor Scott Simmerok serving at Church on the Hill!

Pastor Scott joined our staff on September 1, 2002, as our Youth Pastor, and in 2005 he stepped into the role of Lead Pastor. For more than two decades, he has faithfully served our church, taught God’s Word, developed leaders, and helped people discover the LIFE that Jesus offers.

We’re grateful to God for Pastor Scott, for his leadership, and for the many years he has invested in the people and ministries of Church on the Hill. If you see Pastor Scott this week, be sure to congratulate him and thank him for 24 years of faithful service!

Today, we had the joy of recognizing Bryce Braga as a Pastor of Church on the Hill!

Bryce has served as our High School Ministry Director since 2021, faithfully growing as a leader, teacher, and shepherd. After a careful review and interview process, our Elders and Leadership Team affirmed God’s calling on his life.

Bryce and his wife, Makena, were prayed over and presented with a certificate and Bible as our church celebrated this important step.

Please join us in congratulating Pastor Bryce Braga! 🎉

What a beautiful evening of prayer and worship together.

Tonight, we gathered as a church family to worship, pray for one another, and spend time in the Lord’s presence. We’re grateful for everyone who joined us and helped make Worship Night such a meaningful time together.

Afterward, we capped off the evening with a Lemonade Bar, complete with a variety of flavors and syrups for creating custom drinks, along with homemade cookies.

We hope you enjoyed the evening as much as we did. Thank you for worshiping with us!

We had a great time at the San Jose Giants game this past weekend! ⚾

The San Jose Giants are our local Minor League Baseball team and an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants—and they made for a fun summer outing together. We enjoyed a night at the ballpark, time with friends and family, and everyone even went home with a free Giants hat!

Thanks to everyone who joined us for a fun evening of baseball!

This Sunday, we took a moment to highlight how God has been working in our Middle and High School student ministries, and had the privilege of having two students join us on stage for worship. We got an update from Pastor Bryce about our recent Middle School and High School Summer Camp trips in July. The Harbor (Middle School) went to camp at Mt. Hermon and Oasis (High School) spent a week in House Boats at Shasta Lake. These trips not only gave the students an opportunity to have fun, but also to create moments of connection with each other and with God—without smartphones and the distractions of everyday life.

Summer camps are important stepping stones in our student’s faith journeys. Thank you to all of those who supported our fundraisers and prayed for these students this Summer—we couldn’t have made this possible without you.

On Sunday, our Global Outreach team held a bake sale fundraiser to support our GO Team’s mission trip to Peru this September. We hope you enjoyed the pies and will pray for our team. Our mission partner, Cyrus Mad-Bondo, at World Help shared an update about our ongoing Village Transformation project in Porvenir, a remote village in Peru. God has been incredibly faithful, and blessed us with the opportunity to support their efforts.

Thank you, everyone, who bought a pie (or crocheted item) yesterday to help build a church in Peru and feed 21 families for a month! We'll let you know how much was raised soon.

Be sure to join this Sunday, July 19, after the service for Party on the Patio lunch, and come ready to support our GO Peru 2026 team's "Pies for Peru" bake sale.

This Fall our Peru GO Team is returning to our adopted village of Porvenir on the Amazon River to finish the third phase of Village Transformation there: funding a church and providing a month's worth of groceries for 21 families at just $45 each! The team will be selling pies for Peru in the lobby. Come prepared to give generously toward a delicious pie or two that will literally build a church and feed needy families in Peru.

Our GO Team had an amazing time in Tijuana, Mexico, working with Global Partner, Efren Marin, and his teams which shepherd three churches and minister to men in drug recovery. This morning on stage and after service, members from the GO Team shared how God is transforming lives in Mexico through Efren's ministry. A huge thanks to this team for all of their help during this trip, and to the congregation for their prayers and support to make this trip possible.
