It is with heavy hearts and confident hope in Christ that we share the passing of our dear brother, Ernest “Neto” De La Garza, who entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, May 28. While we grieve his loss, we do not grieve as those who have no hope, for Neto’s faith has become sight, and he now rejoices in the presence of Jesus Christ.
Neto was a faithful servant of Jesus and a faithful member of South San Antonio Baptist Church. For many years he faithfully cared for our church property, served our congregation, and used his gifts to bless countless people. Whether mowing the church grounds, trimming trees, providing tractor rides for children, helping with security, collecting the offering, or simply meeting a need that arose, Neto was always willing to serve.
We thank God for Neto’s life, his testimony, and the countless ways he blessed our church family. While he will be deeply missed, we rejoice that he is now in the presence of the Savior he faithfully served. Please join us in praying for the De La Garza family, that the Lord would comfort them, strengthen them, and uphold them with the hope of the gospel during this season of loss.
