As students, teachers, and school staff prepare for a new school year, our church family will gather for a special Blessing of the Backpacks on Sunday, August 16. This is an opportunity to lift up all who are returning to classrooms and campuses, asking God to guide, protect, and strengthen them throughout the year ahead.

**We invite children, youth, college students, teachers, administrators, and school employees to bring their backpacks, bookbags, brief cases, etc. for a special blessing during our two worship services at 8:45 and 11:00.

Together, we will pray that this new school year will be filled with learning, growth, friendship, and opportunities to share Christ's love with others. As a congregation, we also recommit ourselves to supporting and encouraging our students and educators through our prayers and care.

May each backpack be a reminder that no one walks alone, for God goes with us wherever we go.

The summer season is often filled with lots of travel, and whenever traveling, you have to decide what to take with you. Some of us tend to overpack, while others of us have a habit of forgetting essential items. The same can be said of our spiritual journeys. We hope you will join us for worship this Sunday as we begin a sermon series that asks us to consider our spiritual “packing lists.” What are we taking with us, and what should we leave at the altar?
