Church Family,
After much prayer, discussion, and careful consideration, the Elders are pleased to announce that we are unanimously presenting Pastor Josh Kestner, along with his wife Megan, as our candidate for Senior Pastor of CLI.
Throughout this process, we have felt the weight and importance of this decision. We have received and reviewed seven résumés, conducted interviews, and spent significant time together in prayer and discussion. Through it all, the Lord has given us a strong sense of unity and peace, and we are grateful for the many prayers you have offered on our behalf.
There are several reasons we believe Josh is uniquely prepared for this role. He has served faithfully at CLI alongside Pastor Ryan for many years, giving him a deep understanding of our church, our people, and our culture. He has strong relationships within our congregation and community, a heart for those who have faithfully served for many years, and an ability to connect with younger adults and families.
Most importantly, Josh and Megan believe God is calling them to pastor CLI in this season, and the Elders are united in that conviction. We recognize that every new pastor brings a different personality and leadership style, and Josh and Megan will naturally lead differently than Pastors Ryan and Amy. We believe we can honor what God has done through the previous season while looking forward with faith to what He has ahead.
The next steps are as follows:
Pastor Josh will preach on Sunday, October 11. Then, on Sunday, October 18, Bishop Larry Meadors will lead a churchwide business meeting where active members will vote on the nomination.
We ask that you continue to pray for Josh and Megan, for the Elders, and for our entire church family as we walk through these next steps together. Our prayer is that we remain united, seek the Lord's direction, and trust Him as He leads CLI into this next season.
