Sharing this from Pastor Abby on her great follow-up report after her surgery.
Pastor Abby - We are thankful for the good news!! Continued prayers for complete healing and recovery with better days ahead!!
✝️♥️🛐🌸💜🌸✝️♥️🛐

16 days post-op and today was my first follow-up appointment. It went phenomenally.

She checked my incisions and removed a few sutures that hadn't fully dissolved yet. We spent some time talking about life, my move, and the churches. One of the sweetest parts of the appointment was that she remembered those details and asked how everything was going.

She told me I looked fantastic. Honestly, I feel fantastic.

There were a couple of things I mentioned that had me wondering if they were normal, and she reassured me that everything I described is still a normal part of the healing process. She won't do an internal exam until my 10-week post-op appointment, but she feels so good about how things are progressing that she doesn't need to see me again before then.

While I am incredibly grateful for a good report, I know it wouldn't have been nearly as smooth without the prayers, support, and love of so many people.

A special thank you to Deb for taking me to surgery, staying with me, helping me realize that spending the night was the right decision, and then coming to get me and bring me home.

Thank you to Saint Paris and Rum Creek for the meals, company, laughter, hugs, prayers, and help packing. I truly could not have managed this recovery and move without you.

Thank you to the friends and family who sent cards, texts, made phone calls, and checked in every step of the way. Thank you to the colleagues who have walked alongside me through this season, and to the North Broadway community, who has already been so willing to help, support, and care for me even before I officially moved into the parsonage.

The last few weeks have been full of recovery, transition, and a lot of change. Through it all, I have been surrounded by love. I am beyond blessed, deeply grateful, and reminded once again that we were never meant to carry life's burdens alone.

One last sermon sneak peek for Saint Paris UMC:
June 28, 2026
Text: 1 Corinthians 3:5-9
Title: Now I Know You
As I worked on this week's sermon, I kept coming back to one simple truth:

"The very reason this is hard is also the reason it is so meaningful."

Goodbyes are difficult because they remind us that what we shared mattered. They remind us that relationships were built, memories were made, and lives were intertwined in ways that changed us.

This Sunday we'll reflect on Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 3: "I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth."

As I prepare to preach my final sermon at Saint Paris, I'm reminded that ministry is never about one pastor, one leader, or one season. It is about the faithfulness of God working through generations of people who show up, love one another, and trust God with what comes next.

Two years ago, I walked into a church whose stories I didn't yet know. Today, I leave a church whose stories have become part of my own.

I'm deeply grateful for these last two years, for every person who has been part of the journey, and for the privilege of serving alongside you. I can't wait to worship with you one more time as we celebrate what God has done, what God is doing, and what God will continue to do in the life of this church. ❤️

Sunday, June 21, 2026

This morning we finished up a special part of our 150th anniversary celebration of our church building with the locking of a time capsule that will be placed under the pipe organ for 19 years until the Bicentennial of Methodism. Many items were placed in a red metal file box that was a part of the Carol Rodin estate. Carol passed away on January 3, 2026. We pray for the future of our church and that there will be someone in church today who will be present for the opening of the time capsule in 2045.

Our scripture reading today was from the book of Genesis, 21st chapter, verses 8 thru 21.

Pastor Abby’s sermon was “The Forgotten Become the Promise”.

Hymns were “I Need Thee Every Hour”, “How Firm a Foundation”, and “Good Christian Friends Rejoice”.

We also pray for the week ahead - may God’s blessings fall upon all and bring us safely through what the week holds for each of us.

Join us next Sunday, June 28th at 10:30am for Pastor Abby’s last Sunday at the Saint Paris United Methodist Church. Movers will be moving her tomorrow, Monday, June 22nd but she will still be available until June 30th working in the church office. She welcomes you to stop in before the 30th.

We are wishing Pastor Abby all the best as she heads off to Broadway ……… North Broadway in Columbus as an Associate Pastor. We are thankful for the time we had and look forward to the future!!!
