May 31, 2026 - Trinity Sunday

A beautiful sunny day as we continue to dry out after a very wet month.

Today’s scripture reading was from Matthew 28: 16-20. Following the reading, Pastor Abby’s shared her sermon message which was titled “What Does The Trinity Actually Mean”.

The three hymns for this last Sunday in May were “ Freely, Freely”, “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee”, and “For the Beauty of the Earth”.

Two is a small number and today it is just “two weeks” until we will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of our church building.

It is a beautiful building and we want to share it with you. You are invited to a special service at 4:00 PM on Saturday, June 13th in our church sanctuary. It will be a great time of worship, remembrance, fellowship, and music. Special music will be from the choirs of the Urbana and Mechanicsburg United Methodist Churches.

Following the service, there will be a catered meal in the tent set up in the parking lot west of the building! An instrumentalist will play a variety of instruments as you share a meal with family, friends, neighbors, and community members from near and far.

The celebration continues on Sunday, June 14th at 10:30 AM as we welcome the “Miami Shelby Barbershop Chorus” to share their music and much more for the morning service.

Hope to see you the weekend of June 13th and 14th. We look forward to celebrating with you as we honor the past while looking forward to the future God has in His plans for each of us, for the Saint Paris United Methodist Church, and for our community here in Saint Paris and beyond.

We are in “Ordinary Times” - the time when the church is not experiencing Advent or Lent. This time is dedicated to the life, ministries, and teachings of Jesus.

The first and shorter Ordinary Time is from the end of Advent until Ash Wednesday. The second and longer Ordinary Time that we are now beginning goes from the end of Lent and Pentecost until the beginning of Advent. This longer period lasts 33 - 34 weeks.

This Sunday, May 31st, is the first Sunday of this second Ordinary Time in 2026. Please join us at the Saint Paris UMC, 208 W. Walnut Street, for our service at 10:30am. There is an adult Sunday class that meets at 9:15am in the social room.

Here is a Prayer for Ordinary Time. A great prayer to start each day🛐.

Fill each day with love, hope, peace, and joy!! And share it daily!!✝️♥️🛐

We are so proud of Pastor Abby and this accomplishment. She worked hard and deserves all our love and respect. Bless you Abby - you are loved and appreciated more than words can convey!! Two weeks from today - schedule your time to give the “gift of life”!! A few minutes of your time to add years of life for others!! The best gift ever!! The need is great and your help is appreciated.
