Reflect, hope, and serve, those will be the key themes during a panel discussion honoring and celebrating history and achievements through the lens of the Catholic Faith during a Juneteenth celebration this Saturday hosted and sponsored by the Diocese of St. Augustine Black Catholic Ministry.

It is a free event, and all are welcome to attend!

The O'Reilly House is looking for volunteers to share the stories of the Sisters of St. Joseph! Whether you can give your time weekly or just once a month, we are seeking dedicated individuals who are passionate about sharing the stories of the Sisters of St. Joseph.

No experience is necessary—just a willingness to learn and connect with others. Volunteers enjoy a welcoming community, fun events, and additional perks along the way.

Come visit the Father Miguel O’Reilly House Museum to see our latest addition — a State Historic Marker! We are truly honored to receive this recognition and excited to share this important piece of history with our visitors.

We are honored to share that the Father Miguel O’Reilly House Museum has received a State Historic Marker recognizing the legacy of the Sisters of Saint Joseph and this historic St. Augustine home.

Sister Grace Marie Parker, SSJ, 87, died on May 21, 2026, in St. Augustine. Born on June 22, 1938, in Boston, Massachusetts, Grace Marie was taught by the Sisters of St. Joseph at St. Mary’s School and Notre Dame Academy in Miami. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1956. Her ministries included teaching in both elementary and secondary Catholic schools throughout Florida, serving in the areas of business and finance in parishes, as well as General Treasurer for the Congregation in St. Augustine. After retirement, Sister Grace had an active crocheting ministry.

The funeral liturgy will be on Wed., May 27, at 10 a.m. in the Motherhouse chapel, 241 St. George Street, St. Augustine, followed by interment at San Lorenzo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Sisters of St. Joseph, P.O. Box 3506, St. Augustine, FL 32085.

Today we celebrate Sister Suzan Foster, a proud St. Augustine native and St. Joseph Academy graduate. Sr. Suzie has devoted her life to shaping hearts and minds through her 50+ years in Catholic education, touching countless lives. In addition to her years in education, she faithfully served the congregation through many years of congregational leadership. She continues to share her love and wisdom through her ministry at the St. Joseph Neighborhood Center’s Flourish Program.

Today we celebrate Sister Carol Stovall and the beautiful witness of her life of faith, wisdom, and quiet devotion. Since entering the Sisters of St. Joseph in 1976, she has faithfully lived the mission of serving the dear neighbor with love and grace.
Even in retirement, Sister Carol continues to inspire through her writing and her work as Laudato Si’ Action Plan Coordinator, sharing her deep care for creation and community.
