SALAM Islamic Center

SALAM Islamic Center SALAM is a multi-ethnic Islamic place to worship, learn, and socialize. It is open to all. The emergence of an American-Muslim identity is its prime goal.

Here at SALAM we are just like you! Our community is made up of Muslims from all over the world, which makes SALAM the most diverse Islamic center in Sacramento. Since Islam is a universal faith, all of our programs are held in English so the message is universal for everyone to understand. SALAM strongly advocates for women to attend all the events. We believe in the highest Islamic qualities of

modesty, decency and moral integrity but do not enforce segregation of the sexes. We are excited that you took the time to view our web site to learn about us, and please stop in so we can learn about you.

From the weight of chains to the honor of calling a nation to prayer.

Bilal ibn Rabah رضي الله عنه endured persecution for his faith, yet remained unwavering in “Ahad, Ahad” — Allah is One.

His story is one of faith that could not be broken, dignity that could not be taken away, and an honor given by Allah that continues to echo through every adhan today.

Join us for a powerful evening with Shaykh Tariq Musleh as we reflect on the life, sacrifice, and lasting legacy of one of the most beloved companions of the Prophet ﷺ.

We all know Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as the Prophet of Mercy. And when we look at his life, we see that mercy in the way he treated people, responded to hardship, forgave, and cared for those around him.

This Friday, we’re coming together to reflect on those stories and lessons from his life ﷺ.

We’ll be joined by Shaykh Hamed, Shaykh Achour, and Shaykh Abubakr, along with nasheeds and qasa’id by Al-Maqam Al-Mahmoud.

Friday, August 21 at 6:00 PM
📍 SALAM Islamic Center

There will also be a kids’ corner with seerah activities and a light dinner for everyone.

Bring the family and spend the evening with us remembering the life and example of the Prophet ﷺ.

This summer, 19 high school students spent eight weeks learning, growing, and thinking more intentionally about their future.

SALAM’s 2026 Summer Mentorship Program focused on leadership, college, and career readiness. Throughout the summer, students took part in conversations and experiences designed to help them better understand their strengths, explore college and career pathways, build professional skills, and think about the kind of leaders they want to become.

They also had the opportunity to work alongside the SALAM team and experience community work firsthand learning that leadership is not only about a title, but about responsibility, initiative, teamwork, and service.

The program concluded on July 30 with a graduation celebrating our students, their accomplishments, and the eight weeks they invested in preparing for what comes next.

We’re proud of our students for showing up, asking questions, challenging themselves, and investing in their future this summer.

Congratulations to our 2026 Summer Mentorship graduates. We’re excited to see what comes next for each of you, insha’a Allah.
