The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage begins today! Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to walk with fellow believers, spend time with Our Lord in the Eucharist, and be part of this historic event in Maine. All are welcome!

The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage is coming to Maine June 23–26!

Join Catholics from across the state as we gather for Masses, Eucharistic processions, prayer, adoration, fellowship meals, sacred music, and special events in Kennebunk, Brunswick, Lewiston, Portland, Peaks Island, and York.

A special highlight includes a complimentary ferry trip to Peaks Island on June 25, where pilgrims will continue the celebration with prayer, adoration, talks, and a community cookout.

Bishop James Ruggieri invites all people—Catholics and those who may be curious or searching—to experience the joy and peace that flow from Christ's Real Presence in the Eucharist.

Why do we make a small Sign of the Cross on their forehead, lips, and heart before the Gospel?

✝️ Forehead: May God’s Word be in my mind.

✝️ Heart: May God’s Word be in my heart.

A simple prayer asking God to help us understand, proclaim, and live the Gospel every day.

Blessing for all our Fathers on this special day.

God and Father of all creation,
we come before you today with humble hearts.
You are our model of a loving father.
When we fail and fall short of your expectations,
you are always there at the end of the day with open arms,
ready to heal the cuts and scrapes of the day
and to encourage us to try again and not to give up.

We hold up these men in our midst who act in the world
as fathers to their children or models of fathers for others.

Bless them in their moments of doubt and frustration with their children.
Give them warm and open hearts to forgive failures.
Provide them with the words needed for encouragement and perseverance.
We ask all this in the name of Jesus.
Amen.

Today is Juneteenth! In the United States, this holiday is an important reason to celebrate, as it marks the true end of slavery. It commemorates when federal troops enforced emancipation in Texas, making it a kind of “second Independence Day” for many. Thank God for freedom!

Let us live out the Gospel every day!

VATICAN CITY — Pope Leo XIV said Sunday that when the Gospel is proclaimed and lived out, evil gives way before the power of the risen Christ.

Speaking from the window of the Apostolic Palace for the June 14 Angelus in St. Peter’s Square, the pope reflected on the day’s Gospel from Matthew, saying it “brings us a great gift, for it draws all who hear it into Jesus’ gaze.”

“It is a story that bears witness to the attentiveness of this gaze, as well as telling us what the Lord sees,” Pope Leo said, citing the passage in which Christ, “when he saw the crowds, … had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless.”

“Having become our brother, the Son of God looks at the people, he looks at humanity: He sees the oppression that burdens and the violence that causes strength to fade,” the pope said.

Christ, he continued, also sees the wounds of the contemporary world.

“He sees the wounds of war and the emptiness of consumerism. He sees faces reduced to masks, families torn apart by evil, and young people misled by false ideals,” Pope Leo said. “Jesus sees and loves. He loves and suffers for and with us: His compassion expresses not only fraternal closeness but his desire to redeem.”

What an impact Fr. Felix has had on our students! We are so grateful for the time he has spent with us and for the guidance, kindness, and support he has shared with our school and parish community.

To celebrate and thank him, we will be hosting a Farewell/Goodbye Party on Sunday, June 28, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at Most Holy Trinity Hall. We invite you to stop by, share your well wishes, and help us express our gratitude as Fr. Felix begins his next chapter.
