“Alive and Alert in Christ”

When the Apostle Paul heard the Christians in Colossae were being intimidated by false teachers, he sent warnings to the church of their danger. He warned that Jesus plus their rules will never lead us into Christlikeness.

To counter this false teaching, Paul reminds us of the cross where God wiped our slate clean and blotted out the record of our sin. He nailed our debt to the cross, and Christ bore our sentence of death.

When we feel intimidated by the false teachings of this world, Paul encourages us to remember these truths—for at the cross, Jesus won the victory forever.
