Tonight was the last night of Mission Kids! We learned that we can trust the Bible and disproved many false things people say about it. We talked about Missionary Mary Slessor, who saved countless twins left to die because of superstition. She also dedicated the rest of her life to missions and traveled deep in the jungles where no one else would go. The kids made prayer boxes tonight and received a special gift!

Tonight in Mission Kids we learned about a missionary in Frankfort Ky who helps orphans. We also decorated wood crosses and did a sand art cross lesson, looking up verses for each color!

Tonight in Mission Kids we dug for hidden treasure. Just like we had to dig and work to find treasure, missionaries work hard and witness to many people before finding someone who is willing to accept Jesus. Also missionaries travel far to find people (treasures) who have never heard about Jesus.
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.”

After finding gemstones, all the children opened the Bible to a random spot and we talked about each story on the pages they chose, showing how exciting the Bible can be.

Today was my (Stephanie) and Autumn’s last Sunday. I gave the kids biblical advice for their lives and a little gift. It has been an honor teaching your kids and I want to thank you for bringing them faithfully through the years. Our last Wednesday will be Sept 2nd and I will have a bigger special gift for each child that day so be sure to bring them on Wednesday’s!

Tonight in Mission Kids we made food bags for the poor. The kids also drew and made messages for them. They will be passed out at several blessing boxes in the area. The kids also learned about some elderly missionaries in Spain who are still working for the Lord. You can see them at the end of the pictures.

The older kids read the book of Jude and talked about how it applies to us today. The younger kids learned about the fall of Jericho and acted out the story.

Tonight in Mission Kids we prayed for people in places that have little to no missionaries. We set up prayer stations and every child prayed for each place to be sent missionaries. Then we all said a big prayer and sent a prayer balloon to Heaven signed with all our names.

Today in children’s church the older kids learned how to use online tools to find out where in the Bible to find the answers to their problems. We gave common scenarios that kids face and looked up Bible verses to combat them. The younger kids learned about reaping the harvest, leaving some behind for those in need, helping the elderly and orphans, and how real life situations can apply. We had a new student today and it was his first time at church. Everyone made him feel welcome and we hope to see him next week too.
