John 19:17 “Carrying the cross by himself, he went out to what is called Place of the Skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha.”
Thought for today while you’re “snowed in”. Jesus carried the full weight of the cross for as far as he was physically able, already dying from the Roman scourging before being nailed to the cross and lifted between heaven and earth. This perfectly illustrates that He carried the full weight of our sins. Our debt was crushing and no one other than Jesus could have carried it. He bore in Himself our guilt, our shame, our humiliation and It was all nailed to the cross with Him along with the Law that demanded the debt be paid. He paid it, in full. There is nothing more to be paid. Now, by faith, in gratitude, with love, We seek to live for Him. We still stumble. We still fall. We still fall short. But now, we belong to Him if we have trusted Him. He bears our load; He carries us in His arms; He goes before us to clear the way; He is our rear guard; He covers us to shield us from the onslaught of our adversary. He calls us His friends, sticks closer than a brother, and promises to never leave or forsake us. He died for us so that we could live for Him. He rose to live forever so that we don’t have to fear death.
