Today was unique. We served hot and delicious meals to more people than we can count and didn’t have to cook a thing. There is a new Chipotle Mexican Grill opening soon in Murfreesboro and they have been donating hundreds of meals. Fortunately a couple of amazing ladies that have a ministry in Murfreesboro reached out and blessed us. We are so grateful. One woman said “ I was so hungry and had no idea what I was going to do. I came around the corner and saw us and said PRAISE GOD”

I met Rocky a couple of years ago when he had fallen on some very hard times. Since then, we have had many great conversations. With the help of Hub Nashville, he went from living in a tent in some extremely unpleasant conditions to having his own apartment. Rocky never saw me that he didn’t say how much he appreciated everything we did for him and everyone else. He will truly be missed. Rest easy brother.

Last week the kids at Vacation Bible School packed snack bags for our friends that we served Sunday. Each child made a personal card with a note inside. Those kids will probably never know how much that meant to many of them.

In the past several years we have lost numerous friends. We have people that have overdosed, froze to death and several have even been sent back to other countries. These are never easy but some hit really hard. Today is one of those. We met Preston years ago living alongside the river in a tent. One day we had to call 911 because he only had one lung that was functioning, had pneumonia and was possibly having a heart attack. Kim and I stayed with him in his tent until they carried him away. I never thought I would see him again. Two years later, he and I have had countless conversations about God. Mostly me listening to him talking about their relationship. I will always cherish those talks. Enjoy your new eternal home brother.

Today was a blur. Some days we have a dozen people serving with us and we think we could have used five more. Today God used three of us and we killed it. Prepped, cooked and served about 150 meals in less than an hour. ALL GOD!! Not to mention clothes, dog food and so much more. I love my front row seat.

When you meet people where they are to serve, you have to have different ways to accomplish specific outreaches. Our smaller trailer that we typically use when we are just going to cook wasn’t built for the weight we were carrying. Thanks to an anonymous couple that have supported us forever, we have a brand new one with heat and A/C 🙏❤️🙏

We are truly surrounded by the most incredible people! When we decided to serve our friends on Mother’s Day, we never expected to have help. Without even asking, these ladies we right there. (There may have been some guys too but it’s not their day 🤣) You may have came as volunteers but you left as family.

People ask me almost every time I am out, what kind of car I’m hauling. They don’t know what to say when I tell them we are carrying blessings. There are no words to describe the feeling when I drop that gate and all of these incredible people just take over, unload, cook, setup, pack bags and most importantly show love to all our friends……..no words
