Day 3: The Heavenly Jerusalem—Our True Home
Reading: Hebrews 11:8-16; Revelation 21:1-7.

Devotional: Abraham lived in tents, never settling permanently in the Promised Land. Why? Because he was seeking something greater—a heavenly city with foundations whose architect and builder is God. Like Abraham, we are pilgrims passing through this world, our citizenship belonging to the Jerusalem above. This heavenly city is our mother, nurturing and protecting us even now through the church, God's people gathered around Christ. When earthly circumstances disappoint or earthly cities fail us, we remember we're headed home to a place where God dwells with His people forever. How does this eternal perspective change how you view your current struggles? Live today with the awareness that your true home is not here but with God in the city He has prepared for those who love Him.

5-Day Devotional: Children of Promise.

Day 2: Two Covenants, Two Destinies
Reading: Exodus 19:16-25; Hebrews 12:18-24.

Devotional: Mount Sinai trembled with smoke, earthquake, and thunder when God gave the law—a terrifying display that caused the people to beg Moses to be their intermediary. This covenant brought awareness of sin but couldn't provide freedom from it. By contrast, we approach not an earthly mountain but the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. Through Christ, we come boldly to a throne of grace, not shrinking in terror but welcomed as beloved children. The old covenant brought slavery to fear and impossible demands; the new covenant brings freedom through Christ's finished work. Which mountain defines your relationship with God? Do you live in fear of judgment or confidence in grace? Let the contrast remind you of the privilege you have in Christ.

Day 1: Born of the Spirit, Not the Flesh
Reading: Genesis 21:1-12; Galatians 4:21-23.

Devotional: Isaac's birth was miraculous—born to a barren woman past childbearing age. God's promise defied natural possibility, demonstrating that spiritual life comes through supernatural intervention, not human effort. Similarly, our salvation cannot be achieved through our own striving or religious performance. We are born again not by natural descent or human decision, but by God's Spirit working in us. Just as Sarah couldn't manufacture Isaac through her own strength, we cannot earn our way into God's family. Reflect today on the miraculous nature of your spiritual birth. Are you trusting in God's supernatural work or relying on your own efforts? True freedom comes when we rest in what God has done, not what we can do.

Who is your mother? Not biologically, but spiritually speaking. The Apostle Paul asks this profound question in Galatians 4, drawing a powerful contrast between two families—one bound by slavery to legalism, the other set free by God's promise through Christ.

Using the story of Abraham's two sons, Isaac and Ishmael, Paul reveals a life-changing truth: we cannot earn our way to heaven through religious performance. The earthly Jerusalem represents bo***ge to the law, but there's a heavenly Jerusalem—our true mother—where freedom reigns for those who trust in Jesus alone. Just as Isaac was born through God's miraculous promise, we too are children of promise, born of the Spirit.

Are you trying to assist Jesus in saving yourself, or have you surrendered completely to His finished work? There's no middle ground—you're either all in or not in at all. Stand firm in the gospel of grace, love one another deeply, and share this freedom with those still enslaved to religion without relationship.

Are you a child of slavery or a child of promise?

This Sunday, we journeyed through Galatians 4:21-31, where Paul uses the story of Abraham's two sons to reveal a powerful truth: we are not saved by our works or religious performance, but by God's supernatural promise through Christ alone.

Just as Isaac was born through God's miraculous intervention, our salvation is entirely His work. The earthly Jerusalem represents bo***ge to the law, but we belong to the heavenly Jerusalem—free, adopted, and loved. When the Son sets you free, you are free indeed! Don't let legalism rob you of the joy and unity found in the gospel. Stand firm in the truth that Christ's death and resurrection alone justifies us before God.

Who is your mother—Hagar or Sarah? Are you trusting in your own efforts or resting in God's promise? There's no in-between. You're either all in with Jesus or not in at all.

5-Day Devotional: Gospel Unity and Transformed Living.
Day 5: Spiritual Parenting and Perseverance
Reading: Galatians 4:18-20; 1 Thessalonians 2:7-12
Devotional: Paul describes himself in "anguish of childbirth" for the Galatians' spiritual maturity. Like a parent who corrects firmly because they love deeply, Paul speaks hard truths. He's "perplexed"—at wit's end—watching them run toward spiritual danger. Yet he doesn't abandon them. True spiritual investment is costly, requiring patience through setbacks, correction when necessary, and celebration of growth. Whether you're a parent, mentor, or friend, are you willing to speak difficult truths in love? Will you persevere when others reject sound teaching? Paul's example challenges us to invest sacrificially in others' spiritual formation. Pray for those you're discipling or mentoring. Ask God for wisdom, courage, and endurance. Remember: God is faithful to complete His work in them, just as He is in you.

5-Day Devotional: Gospel Unity and Transformed Living.
Day 4: Love as the Mark of Discipleship
Reading: John 13:34-35; 1 John 3:11-18
Devotional: Jesus declared that love for one another would be the defining mark of His disciples. Not doctrinal precision alone, not spiritual gifts, not even evangelistic zeal—but love. This love isn't sentimental feeling but sacrificial action, especially toward those in need. The Galatians once demonstrated this love toward Paul; false teaching destroyed it. Examine your own life: Do you intentionally love other Christians? Do you serve those struggling, encourage the discouraged, bear with the difficult? Or have you substituted theological correctness for genuine care? Both matter, but knowledge without love produces arrogance (1 Corinthians 8:1). The vertical relationship with God and horizontal relationships with believers are inseparable. Today, identify one specific way to tangibly love another believer—and do it.
