Today was a truly Holy Spirit-filled day at Mount Hebron as we celebrated our Pastor’s 59th Birthday! Each ministry shared heartfelt words of encouragement, and the celebration continued with cake and punch sponsored by the Pastor’s Partners.
We are also grateful for the love and generosity shown to our Youth Ministry. Special thanks to Mr. Avery for his donation on behalf of Lady Tanya, and to Pastor for his continued support and contribution to the Youth Ministry. Thank you all for pouring into the next generation and helping us continue the work of ministry. ❤️
Today’s Word from Pastor Joseph:Topic: Failure Is Not FinalScripture: John 21:1-10, 14-17
In this passage, the disciples returned to fishing after experiencing disappointment, fear, and failure following Jesus’ death. After fishing all night and catching nothing, they were reminded of feelings of emptiness and defeat. Peter especially carried the burden of denying Jesus three times.
Yet Jesus met them right in the middle of their frustration. From the shore, He instructed them to cast their nets again, and when they obeyed, their nets overflowed with fish. This powerful moment reminded them that even after failure, Jesus still provides, restores, and gives purpose.
Later, Jesus lovingly asked Peter three times, “Do you love Me?” Not to shame him, but to restore him. For every denial, Jesus gave Peter another opportunity to reaffirm his love and calling. Jesus showed Peter that his failure was not the end of his story.
This message reminds us all that failure does not disqualify us from God’s purpose. God meets us in our lowest moments, restores us, and still uses us for His glory. Mistakes, setbacks, and disappointments are never final when placed in God’s hands.
