Founded In Truth Fellowship

Founded In Truth Fellowship Founded In Truth Ministries is devoted to exploring the context, history, and culture of The Bible f

We are a messianic fellowship made up of families devoted to pursuing the mission, purpose, and truth of the gospel of Yeshua (Jesus). We believe God is doing a new thing within His creation, and He wants to use you to do it. As followers of Yeshua, we seek to better ourselves and better the world around us through the teachings and instructions of Jesus. It is through Him that we are reconciled t

o God and conformed to an image that reflects His reign on earth. We are not your typical “Sunday church.” In fact, we don’t even meet on Sundays. At FIT, we love to explore Biblical observances such as The Sabbath, Holy Days, and other customs Yeshua Himself kept. This helps us get an intimate glimpse into the love and peace of who our God is.

This week’s message continues our Homeward Bound series with a teaching titled “Joel: When the Mountains Drip With Wine.” Pastor Matthew Vander Els walks through the prophet Joel and the astonishing vision of a world where the curse of Genesis 3 begins to run backward.

Joel begins in devastation. Locusts strip the land bare. Grain, wine, and oil disappear. The ground mourns. Joy dries up. But in the middle of the wreckage, the prophet announces a reversal: the years the locusts have eaten will be restored, the Spirit will be poured out on all flesh, and one day the mountains themselves will drip with sweet wine.

In this teaching, we’ll trace the story from Eden to Joel, from Cana to Revelation, exploring the river flowing from the house of the LORD, the Valley of Sh*ttim, the pouring out of the Spirit, and Yeshua’s first miracle at the wedding feast in Cana.

This is a message about cursed ground becoming watered ground, shame becoming restoration, and the God who does not merely refund what was lost, but makes it whole.

Join us as we explore Joel’s vision of restoration, the mountain dripping with wine, and the kingdom Yeshua announced when He turned water into wine.

This week’s Shavuot message is titled “Ruth: The Promise That Stays” We'll walks through the book of Ruth and shows why Jewish communities around the world read this story during Shavuot.

Ruth is not just a love story. It is a fifty-day story, beginning at the barley harvest around Passover and ending at the wheat harvest around Shavuot. It is the Omer count in narrative form.

In this teaching, we’ll explore Ruth, Naomi, Boaz, chesed, and the God who refuses to leave. From Ruth’s vow to stay with Naomi, to Boaz spreading his wing over Ruth, to the Spirit coming at Pentecost, this message reveals Shavuot as the feast of covenant faithfulness.

If you have ever felt bitter, abandoned, or unsure what name you are supposed to answer to anymore, Ruth reminds us that redemption often begins when someone refuses to leave.

Chag Sameach. Happy Shavuot.

Our church family lost Brayden Birmele yesterday in a motorcycle accident due to another drive performing an illegal U-turn. He was 18. We are grieving with Brad, Jenny, and the entire Birmele family. The GoFundMe goal has been met but the real costs will go well beyond it, and anyone who has endured funeral costs knows that. If you can give, please give despite the "goal" being met. If you can pray, please do.

This week’s message continues our Homeward Bound series with a teaching titled “Measure for Measure: Homeward Bound -Obadiah.” Pastor Matthew Vander Els walks through the shortest book in the Old Testament and uncovers one of the most important patterns running throughout Scripture: middah k’neged middah, measure for measure.

Obadiah may only be twenty-one verses, but it carries a warning that echoes from Judges to Exodus, from Esther to the cross: “As you have done, it shall be done to you.”

In this teaching, we’ll trace that pattern through Adoni-Bezek, Pharaoh, Haman, Edom, and ultimately to Yeshua in Gethsemane, the One who drank the cup of judgment that should have returned upon us.

This is a message about justice, mercy, the measure in your hand, and what it means to become someone God can use.

Join us as we explore Obadiah, the danger of standing on the cliff while your brother burns, and the call to become rescuers at the crossroads.

In James 2:1–7, James confronts a problem that had taken root within the Messianic community: favoritism. Believers were judging others by outward appearance, giving greater honor to the wealthy while dishonoring the poor. James makes it clear that partiality has no place among the people of God.

In this teaching, we’ll explore why favoritism is so destructive to community, how prejudice blinds us to the heart of the Kingdom, and what it means to truly love our neighbors without discrimination or hypocrisy.

James reminds us that the Kingdom of God overturns human systems of status and privilege. The people the world often overlooks are precious in God’s sight, and followers of Messiah are called to reflect His character by showing mercy, honor, and love to all people equally.

This week’s message continues our Homeward Bound series with “Zephaniah - Daughter of Zion.”

Zephaniah is one of the heaviest books in the prophets, judgment, darkness, wrath, and the Day of YHWH. But buried at the end is one of the most beautiful promises in Scripture: God does not only rescue His people. He rejoices over them. He quiets them with His love. He sings over them.

In this message, we'll trace the phrase “Daughter of Zion” through the prophets, from the weeping daughter in Lamentations, to the singing daughter in Zephaniah, to Mary in Luke 1, and finally to the garden on resurrection morning.

This is a message for anyone who feels stuck in the weeping part of the story. Zephaniah reminds us that judgment is not the final word, exile is not the final destination, and the daughter does not stay in mourning forever.

The singing starts again.

This week we continue our Homeward Bound prophetic series with "Yet," a message on Habakkuk, the most overlooked prophet in your Bible.

Habakkuk didn't open with a vision. He opened with a complaint. He prayed. Got an answer worse than the problem. Pushed back harder. Climbed a watchtower and waited. And came out the other side with four Hebrew words that Paul built his entire gospel on, quoted in Romans, Galatians, and Hebrews by three different authors making three completely different arguments.

Pastor Matthew Vander Els walks through the two complaints, the double agency of YHWH using Babylon while simultaneously indicting Babylon, the Hebrew word emunah and what faith actually means outside the Greek framework we inherited, and why the book ends not with the fig tree budding but with the man changing.
If you've ever felt like your honest questions don't belong in church, like silence means absence, or like you're standing in front of something that hasn't changed no matter how long you've prayed, this teaching is for you.
Yet I will rejoice is not a feeling. It's a declaration.

This week’s message, “In Him You Have Been Filled,” comes from Colossians 2 and will be taught by David Wilber.

Paul warns about voices that sound spiritual but ultimately pull us away from the sufficiency of Messiah - philosophies and ideas that promise more, but actually leave us empty. This teaching brings us back to a simple but powerful truth: in Messiah, you already have fullness.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re missing something… like you need more knowledge, more rules, or something extra to be complete, this message is for you.

Come be encouraged to stand firm in what God has already given you, and not be led astray by what only looks like fullness.
