“Restoring our Appetite for GOD”

Today I wanted to share something that can help in “Restoring Our Appetite With GOD”. These are very simple but this basic list will help us stay focus in our relationship with our “Heavenly Father”. For many of us we get so busy doing that we leave out the “Relationship Part”. This happens in our home, with friends, at work and most of all with our “Heavenly Father”.

How do we “Restore The Relationship”????

Return to God Honestly
Don’t pretend to be real.
What to do:
Tell your Heavenly Father where you are in your relationship with HIM
Admit the dryness or lack of hunger
Simple Prayer:
“Father, I don’t feel Hungary for OU right now but I WANT TO BE HUNGARY FOR YOU!!! Please Restore me (Psalm 51).

Start Small but Be Consistent
It is not about intensity, it is and about consistency, Spending time with Your Heavenly FATHER.
What to do:
Set aside specific times daily to spend with GOD, the amount of time will take care of itself.
Build naturally, purpose to enjoy spending time in HIS Presence

Remove or Reduce Distractions:
What feeds your flesh will starve your spirit.
What to do:
Limit social media, noise and unnecessary input, validations from others
Create a quiet, special place for your time with Your Heavenly Father

Reignite Through Worship
Worship your Heavenly Father softens and awakens your heart.
What to do:
Play worship music and engage, do more than listen to the music, WORSHIP!
Sit in God’s presence without rushing

Pray for Hunger for God (Even Without Feeling It)
Prayer:
“LORD, please give me a desire for YOU that overrides everything else” (Psalm 91)

When we make the commitment to be intentional about being in God’s Presence it can feel awkward at first. Our minds wonder, and we feel inadequate praying. Continue to side aside time pray, it will become natural to you and you will enjoy your time with “YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER”

Let’s do a group prayer tonight at 7:00 pm for ten minutes. Wherever you are find a space, put on some worship music, and talk to your Heavenly Father. Let me know what happens.

“Memorial Day”

A day of remembering, reflecting and a day of being thankful!

Remembering - the sacrifice of life that men and women gave for our freedoms and rights.

Reflecting - on their lives and the stories that they shared and the stories that we did not get to hear.

Thankful - for the freedoms and rights we have because of the ultimate sacrifice of others.

There are many ways to remember, reflect and honor “Fallen Soldiers” on ‘Memorial Day”:
1. Visit Memorial Battlefields and Re-enactments
2. Pay Respects at National Cemeteries
3. Leave the Legacy of Remembering
4. Visit or Send a Message to the Family of a Fallen Service Member
5. Dignify Our National Anthem and Flag
6. Never Forget
7. Volunteer with Organizations Who Preserve National Cemeteries

The Lord called for memorials and celebrations to occur on multiple occasions throughout history. In Joshua 4:5-7, Joshua commanded a member of each tribe to take a stone and set sit up on the banks of the Jordan River after they crossed to recognize their victory in entering the promise land.

When we remember:
We honor the the GOD who delivered, the people who sacrificed and the nation we are privileged to live in.

Today let’s REMEMBER!

“GOD Has Caused Me To Forget"

All of us know most of the life of Joseph and the terrible things that his brothers, and others did to him. I cannot imagine the pain and anguish that Joseph endured. Some of the things he suffered at the age of 17:
Betrayal by family, thrown into a pit, sold into slavery, imprisoned for a crime he did not commit, alone in another country.

Joseph's gift was also his biggest issue! Many times our gifting becomes our biggest detriment because we do not use it correctly.

But in all of Joseph’s “TROUBLES” God was faithful. God did not take him out of his “TROUBLES” but used them for HIS glory. Many times we do not understand the WHY, However we MUST TRUST IN THE WHO, and the WHO is GOD!

In Genesis 41:51-52 (NASB95) 51 Joseph named the firstborn Manasseh, “For,” he said, “God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.” 52 He named the second Ephraim, “For,” he said, “God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.”

Manasseh - GOD made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.
Ephraim - GOD has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.

God helped Joseph to “Forget” the pain and suffering and made him Fruitful (prosper) even as a slave and in prison.

I do not know your pain or sorrow and I will not minimize it either. All of us have faced heartache and trouble and many others have had horrific things done to them.

I do know this the Savior who provides redemption, forgiveness, and grace for all of mankind who will ask, is ready now to help you and I with our sorrow and pain too.

JESUS will help you “Forget” the pain and HE will “Make You Fruitful”! HE will give you life, hope and peace!

Today I want to pray with and for you, it is my desire that you are freed from the sorrow of your past and that you are fruitful, blessed in your present and future.

Prayer: (Pray this with me today)
Lord JESUS, I am hurting, I need YOUR help. I cannot forget all of the things that have happened to me in my past. I have anger, bitterness, guilt, shame, dis-trust, health issues, and most all Jesus I hurt. I do not know what to do, or how to do it. I want to trust YOU, “BUT” I do not know what that looks like. I have hidden behind this mask of pain and suffering for so long I do not know how to take it off.

JESUS, please help me!!! I am crying out to YOU today! Please help me to receive YOUR Love and Forgiveness and HELP me to forget my pain and sorrow!

I believe that YOU, JESUS, are the Savior and I open my mouth and my heart and ask YOU to forgive me of my sins and I ask YOU to HELP ME!!

Thank YOU JESUS for helping me today and everyday. I give YOU all of the praise, honor and glory!!!

Thank YOU for Making me FREE today!!!

Jesus Sees Us
Even When We Do Not Think HE Is Looking

I hope all of you who are Mom’s had a great day yesterday and that you were honored by your family. You are special and you are a gift from God.

Today I want to give you some encouragement and to let you know that “Jesus Sees You”. There is a special story in Luke chapter 13:10-17 of a woman who was bent over for 18 years. The Bible says she had a “spirit of infirmity”. She comes to a synagogue that Jesus was teaching at and “HE Sees Her”.

Many times, we think, feel or believe that NO ONE SEES US, NO CARES ABOUT US and that NO ONE CAN HELP US! So, we isolate ourselves from everything and everyone. We live in this “NONE STATE OF MIND and PURPOSE”.

This woman was “BENT OVER”, she COULD NOT STRAIGHTEN HERSELF. I DECLARE TO YOU TODAY THAT YOU ARE NOT ALONE, JESUS SES YOU!

Several things happen in this woman’s life once “JESUS SEES HER”:

Then Jesus calls her forward. For someone used to being unnoticed, avoided, or quietly pushed aside, this is already an act of restoration.

Jesus says: “Woman, you are freed from your weakness.”
This means: to loosen, to untie, to release from bonds

Luke wants us to hear this clearly: Her condition is described as bo***ge, not simply biology!
Jesus lays His hands on her, and immediately she stands upright. For 18 years, her body had told her one story: This is as good as it gets. When Jesus lays hands on her, Luke says: “Immediately she was straightened.”

This means: to set upright, to restore, to raise back to proper position
This word appears in the Greek Scriptures for: rebuilding ruins, restoring what has collapsed, raising what has fallen down
It is not just posture, but a restoration to intended order!

Jesus names her as family: “Ought not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” (Luke 13:16)
Jesus publicly names her: “a daughter of Abraham”.
This is rare language. By using it; JESUS acknowledges the length of her suffering, He names it as bo***ge, not failure, He restores her dignity and identity publicly.

Her body was bent, but her status before God never was.

JESUS SEES YOU, HE is reaching to you today and HE is to meet you right where you are. HE knows the pain, sorrow, guilt, shame and all that comes with suffering. HE knows how it all has happened and HE knows you! Trust HIM today meet with you, “HE SEES YOU”!

As Always, I am Ready To Talk When You Are

This is written to women and Mom’s, however, men JESUS SEES you too and He is ready to meet with You!!
