Good Afternoon!

Today as I was preparing this devotional I was reminded of all the “Personal Protective Equipment “ (PPE) I would wear in the work place from time to time.

Things like:
Steel toed shoes, goggles, hard hat, fire retardant clothing, gloves, respirators, ear buds, coveralls… the list is almost endless.

At times I thought these items were more of a hindrance than a help. I would think things like: “ I am a professional, I know what I doing” or “Who came up with all of this stuff”. I would complain like many in the work place.

But the moment I dropped something heavy on my foot I was very thankful for the “steel toed shoes”, or when I got my hand caught in something, I was very thankful for the gloves.

My point is this, we do not know when we will need the PPE, but we know we need the PPE when we need it.

The Word GOD gives us a PPE to wear, it is called “The Armor of GOD”. It is found in Ephesians chapter 6. I encourage you to read it today.

I will send out the PPE for the Christian later this week.

Blessings in JESUS Name!!

As always, I am ready to talk when you are!

PM list for a Christian

A preventive maintenance (PM) list for a Christian, focuses on regular spiritual disciplines to abide in Christ, guard against temptation, and prevent spiritual dryness or complacency.
Based on biblical principles, this checklist acts as a routine for staying connected to the Vine (John 15:5).

Daily Maintenance (Walking with the Lord)
• First Fruits (Prayer): Dedicate the first moments of your day to prayer, offering thanks and surrendering your day to God. (Psalm 63:1)
• Daily Bread (Scripture): Read at least one chapter of the Bible daily to renew your mind (Romans 12:2).
• Guarding the Heart: Pause before using social media or entertainment to filter what enters your mind (Proverbs 4:23).
• Nightly Confession: Review your day, confess any known sin to God, and receive His forgiveness (1 John 1.9).

Weekly Maintenance (The Body of Christ)
• Sabbath Rest: Dedicate a full day or a specific block of time to rest from labor, focusing on worship and physical recovery. (Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:27-28)
• Corporate Worship: Attend church services weekly to worship collectively and hear the Word preached (Hebrews 10:25).
• Small Group/Fellowship: Gather with a smaller circle of believers for mutual encouragement, accountability, and prayer. (1John 1:1-4)
• Tithing & Giving: Joyfully set aside your financial offerings to support the local church and ministry (2 Corinthians 9:7).

Monthly Maintenance (Heart & Service Check-ins)
• Communion Reflection: Actively examine your heart and reconcile any broken relationships before taking the Lord's Supper. (1 Corinthians 11:27-29)
• Spiritual Accountability: Have an open, honest conversation with a trusted Christian mentor or peer about your hidden struggles. (James 5:16)
• Serving Others: Use your spiritual gifts to volunteer inside or outside your church walls (1 Peter 4:10).

Annual Maintenance (Spiritual Tune-Ups)
• Extended Fasting/Prayer: Schedule a weekend or a few days for a focused fast to seek God’s direction and break spiritual strongholds. (2 Corinthians 10:4)
• Spiritual Gifts Review: Evaluate if you are living out your specific calling and stewardship of time, talent, and treasure. (Luke 12:34)
• Ministry & Mission: Participate in or support a specific local outreach, short-term mission, or specialized church project. (2 Peter 1:10-11)

“Preventive Maintenance”

I have worked with my hands most of my life, and I have worked in or for the church most of my life too. Many times the two go hand in hand. There is always something to fix or maintain in the church building and there is always things to maintain in our spiritual walk.

Once you have completed your “PM” (Preventive Maintenance) on something and you think you have “everything caught up” and you are ready to enjoy some down time, some rest, some deserved time off, that is when things seem to fall apart and you have to fix what is broken.

"We realize that the broken always cost us more than we are willing to pay, and more time than we have to give”.

When it comes to our walk with the LORD:
How do we perform, do “PM”?
1. Prayer Life - Connected to Power
2. Word of GOD - Operational Manual
3. Hands on Training - Walking the Walk

The Scripture teaches us that we have an adversary (Maintenance Issue), he is the enemy of our soul. Satan will do all he can to cause breakdowns, power failures, improper use of Operational Manual and not follow training protocols.
1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV) “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour”.
1 Corinthians 10:12-13 (NKJV) 12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God [is] faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear [it.]

In 2 Peter 1:5-11 we are given a “PM List” (Check List) to perform and if we follow this “PM” schedule the Scripture teaches us that we will not stumble (have breakdowns) and that we have a reward waiting on us in Heaven.

I encourage you to download the “PM List” today. Memorize it, post it on your mirror, hang it in your shop, perform the list each and everyday and you will not stumble or fall (no breakdowns).

Philippians 1:3-6 (NKJV) 3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4 always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, 5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete [it] until the day of Jesus Christ;

“In Circles”

How many of you remember the song “Will It Go Round In Circles”? It is written by Billy Preston and Bruce Carleton Fisher. And it was performed by Billy Preston.
Some of the lyrics: I've got a song, I ain't got no melody, I’ma gonna sing it to my friends; Will it go 'round in circles? Will it fly high like a bird up in the sky? I've got a story, ain't got no moral. Let the bad guy win every once in a while. I've got a dance, I ain't got no steps, no; I’m gonna let the music move me around.

There are some days this describes me perfectly. I walk in so many “CIRCLES” that I keep bumping to myself. I find myself doing the same things over and over again and I wonder, will I ever get off this merry-go-round!

Scripture teaches us: Proverbs 16:25 “There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.”

The Apostle Paul said it this way in Romans 7:14-25 and Romans 8:1-2. (I am paraphrasing the verses) GOD is spiritual and I am flesh, I know what to do and I know what pleases GOD but I do that which pleases me. I do not want to do the wrong, SIN, but that is what controls me. But, THANKS BE TO GOD, THROUGH JESUS CHRIST we can and will be changed by GOD’S LOVE and GRACE. And know I can live without condemnation through JESUS CHRIST the SAVIOR!

Are you ready to break the “CIRCLE Control”? Remember, HE will ORDER and DIRECT your PATH.

HOW IS THE CIRCLE OF SIN BROKEN? JESUS has the keys to death, hell and the grave. Because HE has overcome HE has made possible for us to overcome through HIM.

Be honest with yourself, admit that you need help (I needed HIS help, and I called out to HIM). When you call, HE WILL ANSWER!!!

Prayer: LORD JESUS, please help me, I am tired of going round and round in circles. I want to follow YOU with all of my heart, soul and mind. I surrender all to YOU!!!

Want to talk, I am ready when you are.

“Rabbit’s Foot Faith”

How many of us carried a “Rabbit’s Foot” in our pocket or on a key chain? The reason we carried it was it would bring us “Good Luck”. I have some earth shattering news, “IT WASN’T GOOD NEWS FOR THE RABBITS”!!!

Or we say things like:
"Break a leg”; “Fingers crossed”; “Knock E’M Dead”; how will any of those statements bring “Good Luck”? Nothing in those statements speaks anything good. Yet, we trust them to bring us “Good Luck”, think about that for a moment.

Did you ever wear your team’s jersey thinking it would help them win, and if they did win you would not wash it as long as they were winning? It was as though you wearing the jersey was the reason the team was winning.

We trust in superstition, objects of luck and false statements to guide us through life and life’s special moments. Then we get upset and blame GOD when things don’t happen the way we think they should happen.

I have read these verses many times over the years, but we need to think about them often to help keep us grounded. Proverbs 3:1-8 (NASB95) 1 My son, do not forget my teaching, But let your heart keep my commandments; 2 For length of days and years of life And peace they will add to you. 3 Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart. 4 So you will find favor and good repute In the sight of God and man. 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and turn away from evil. 8 It will be healing to your body And refreshment to your bones.

This LIFE in JESUS is not by chance, good luck charms or karma. JESUS is the SON of GOD, JESUS is the SAVIOR of the world, HE will forgive us when we call on HIS NAME. I am thankful that I DO NOT HAVE “RABBITS FOOT FAITH”, what about you, what kind of faith do you have?

YOU CAN TRUST IS JESUS!!!
