As your children finish middle school or change sizes, please donate any gently worn uniforms to The Ministry Center. Your donations will help us restock our uniform room and be ready the new school year!

Donations can be dropped off on Wednesdays or Saturdays from 9AM-11:30AM. The Ministry Center is located at 1021 Charlotte Ave (across from Earth Fare).

At Oakland, we strive to be "the presence of Christ at the crossroads of life" and last night, these incredible volunteers lived that mission beautifully. 💛

They spent their evening preparing donated items for The Furniture Bank, helping ensure that neighbors in need have the everyday essentials so many of us take for granted, from couches and tables to plates and frying pans.

Thank you for showing up and serving with such generous hearts. This is what community looks like.

Yesterday, on Pentecost Sunday, we celebrated the gift of the Holy Spirit which was poured out on ALL people, stirring up gifts in every heart, calling every one of us into ministry.

At Oakland Baptist we take that seriously. We believe the Spirit doesn't check your age, your gender, or your background before handing out gifts. So neither do we.

Young and old. Women and men. Lifelong members and first-time worshippers. Everyone is welcome here and not just in the pews, but in the pulpit, at the altar, in leadership, and in every form of ministry we have to offer.

If you've ever been told your gifts don't belong in certain spaces, we'd love for you to find a home with us. The Spirit moved at Pentecost without exclusion, and we're doing our best to follow that lead every single Sunday.

Come as you are. Serve as you're called. 🔥

You are invited to Vacation Bible School at Oakland Baptist Church, June 8-11, 9AM-11:45AM

Join us for four exciting days of fun, faith, and friendship at Vacation Bible School. This summer, children will discover what it means to be rooted deeply in God’s love and as they grow strong in their faith. Through engaging Bible stories, hands-on crafts and science experiments, high-energy recreation, and delicious snacks, children will learn how staying connected to God helps them grow, bloom, and bear good fruit in their everyday lives.

VBS is for children who have completed Kindergarten-5th grade. The deadline to register (so you can be guaranteed a t-shirt) is May 22. Sign up today and get ready to dig in, plant seeds of faith, and watch what God can grow!
