Illumine Church

Illumine Church Illumine is a community for everyone to find peace, hope, and true rest. Illumine Church works to engage people in a simple process of discipleship.

We start with Worship, a time of rejuvenation and rest for the soul as we appreciate love of God. We move into Education, a time to challenge ourselves and become greater than we've ever been. Once we're equipped, we move on to Service, a chance to connect to our community and bring to it the goodness God brings us through his love. Of course, once you've exhausted yourself by serving, it's back t

o rest and rejuvenation at Worship. Illumine was founded in 2013 and is a mission congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The 340,000 members of the WELS work together to create new mission opportunities like this one in Rock Hill.

"Any attempt to think less of sin is ignoring how bad sin really is."

In Sunday's sermon, Vicar Zach preached on Timothy 1:12-17, where Paul spoke of God's grace towards him. Here, Vicar Zach talks about the dangers of trying to ignore or minimize our own sins. View the full sermon on our YouTube page.

“What makes you lovable?” How would someone who loves you answer that question? Maybe they’d say you’re hard-working, honest, or emotionally intelligent. Maybe they’d point to a specific time that you were dependable, kind, and selfless. But what if those things weren’t there? Human love often has limits. It can be stretched, strained, and even withdrawn when someone disappoints us.

But God’s love is different. Tomorrow, we’ll be looking at a shocking truth: God loves sinners—even the worst of sinners. He loves sinners like you and me, not because there is anything in us that earns it, but because of his mercy. You're invited to join us!

All treasures of wisdom and things to be known
Are hidden inside of your hand
And in this fortunate turn of events
You ask me to be your friend
You ask me to be your friend

The more you study biology, the more you come to understand: humans are incredible creatures. How are bodies, though imperfect, work just so. How we live and breathe and move on this earth. Our capacity for communication, growth, adaptation, and so much more.

And…humans are also less than nothing compared to God. He is incomprehensibly and infinitely greater. We cannot fathom how great he is, not even with all the capacity in our brains and souls put together.

And yet, he reveals himself to us. He teaches us about himself, his character, his demands, and his promises. Those are the infinite depths we’ll explore in this 3-week series starting tomorrow at 10am- you're invited to join us!
