Illumine Church

Illumine Church Illumine is a community for everyone to find peace, hope, and true rest. Illumine Church works to engage people in a simple process of discipleship.

We start with Worship, a time of rejuvenation and rest for the soul as we appreciate love of God. We move into Education, a time to challenge ourselves and become greater than we've ever been. Once we're equipped, we move on to Service, a chance to connect to our community and bring to it the goodness God brings us through his love. Of course, once you've exhausted yourself by serving, it's back t

o rest and rejuvenation at Worship. Illumine was founded in 2013 and is a mission congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The 340,000 members of the WELS work together to create new mission opportunities like this one in Rock Hill.

It's the natural reaction: find safety. Get out of danger. Make sure you're okay.

And there's certainly a time and place for that. However, this weekend we'll see that God calls the Church to do just the opposite: be spiritual first-responders. When you see people in trouble, you respond. Even when there's risk.

And here's the good news: that's exactly what Jesus did for you and me. You're invited to join us tomorrow as we look more into this.

"Being part of this group means you must choose to suffer, and it also means that whether you choose to suffer or not, you are indeed going to suffer."

Those words aren't a direct quote from the Bible, but they summarize what Jesus said in Matthew 16 & what God speaks in Romans 8. And those words are the reality for Christians! It is a challenging reality to live in, and tomorrow we get to take in God's words for us as we do indeed live in that challenging reality.
