Home Worship Guide 2-1-26
All,
I read this Psalm this morning in my devotions and pulled together a little worship guide for tomorrow if you want to use it. May the Lord richly bless you as you read His word,
Bless His Name, and seek His face in prayer.
Jason
--------------------------
Opening Prayer:
Psalm 145:1–3 (ESV)1 I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever. 2 Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. 3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.
Read God’s Word: Psalm 103 (ESV) Of David.
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, 3 who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, 4 who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, 5 who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. 6 The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed. 7 He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the people of Israel. 8 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. 9 He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. 10 He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; 12 as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. 13 As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. 14 For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust. 15 As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; 16 for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more. 17 But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children, 18 to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments. 19 The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all. 20 Bless the Lord, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, obeying the voice of his word! 21 Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers, who do his will! 22 Bless the Lord, all his works, in all places of his dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul!
Meditate on God’s Word:
We can give God praise from the depths of our hearts for His goodness to us. (1-6)
There is truly great benefit for those have come to know God through the Lord Jesus:
Forgiveness of our sins and iniquity.
Healing from our soul sickness – and because He is gracious, often even our physical sickness.
Rescue from the hopelessness that can sometimes come upon us in this life.
Steadfast love – love that which never ceases- and Mercy
True satisfaction and contentment because of His goodness that gives us strength to live for Him.
We can give God praise because He has made Himself known to us. (7-18)
He has shown Himself to be merciful and gracious
He is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love
He does not deal with as we deserve.
He truly forgives our sins.
He is the best Father, full of compassion.
He knows what we are – weak and temporary – yet He loves us!
We can give God praise because He is sovereign over all. (19-22)
The Angels praise God – and they obey His word!
All creatures praise God – and they do His will!
All creation praises God – for His works are glorious!
We Praise God for His Goodness, For Who He is, For His Mighty Power!
Confess Your Sin and Need of the Savior: Modified from Daniel 9
O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love You and keep Your commandments, we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from Your commandments and rules. We have not listened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. To You, O Lord, belongs righteousness, but to us open shame. To us, O Lord, belongs open shame, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against you. To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against You and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by walking in Your laws, which You set before us by Your servants the prophets, and have revealed to us in Your holy Word. We have transgressed Your law and turned aside, refusing to obey Your voice.”
Now O Lord, forgive us our many sins, of thought, word, and deed, because of the perfect sacrifice of our Lord Jesus, whom we confess is both Lord and Savior. Cleanse us from all unrighteousness and make us whole, all because of what Jesus has done. Amen.”
Worship God through Song: Praise to the Lord, the Almighty (53 in the Trinity).

1 Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him, for He is thy health and salvation!
All ye who hear,
Now to His temple draw near;
Join me in glad adoration!
2 Praise to the Lord, who o'er all things so wondrously reigneth,
Shelters thee under His wings, yea, so gently sustaineth!
Hast thou not seen
How thy desires e'er have been
Granted in what He ordaineth?
3 Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee;
Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee.
Ponder anew
What the Almighty can do,
If with His love He befriend thee.
4 Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore Him!
All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before Him.
Let the Amen
Sound from His people again:
Gladly for aye we adore Him.
Pray to God: From The Valley of Vision – “God Honored” page 24
O God, Praise waits for You, and to render it is my noblest exercise;
This is Your due from all Your creatures, for all Your works display Your attributes and fulfill Your designs;
The sea, dry land, winter cold, summer heat, morning light, evening shade are full of You, and You give me them richly to enjoy.
You are King of kings and Lord of lords; At Your pleasure empires rise and fall:
All Your works praise You, and Your saints bless You:
Let me numbered with Your holy ones, resemble them in character and condition, sit with them at Jesus’s feet.
May my religion be always rooted in Your Word, my understanding divinely informed,
my affections holy and heavenly, my motives simple and pure, and my heart never wrong with You.
Deliver me from the natural darkness of my own mind, from the corruptions of my heart,
from the temptations to which I am exposed, from the daily snares that attend me.
I am in constant danger while I am in this life;
Let Your watchful eye ever be upon me for my defense,
Save me from the power of my worldly and spiritual enemies and from all painful evils to which I have exposed myself.
Until the day of life dawns above let there be unrestrained fellowship with Jesus;
Until fruition comes, may I enjoy the earnest of my inheritance and the first fruits of the Spirit;
Until I finish my course with joy may I pursue it with diligence, in every part display the resources of the Christian, and adorn the doctrine of Your my God in all things.
Amen
