💜 JUSTICE FOR ALEXIS MASSEY 💜

There are some names we refuse to let our community forget.

ALEXIS MASSEY is one of those names.

Alexis was only 20 years old. She was a daughter. A sister. A friend. A young woman with dreams, goals, and a future ahead of her.

Alexis was a Rock Hill native and a graduate of South Pointe High School. She had moved to Spartanburg, where she was building her own business and working toward a better future.

Then, on May 10, 2021, everything changed.

Alexis came back to Rock Hill to celebrate Mother’s Day. While attending a gathering on Hagins Street, gunfire erupted.

Alexis was an innocent bystander.

She was shot and killed.

One moment, a family had a daughter.

The next moment, they had a daughter they could never bring home.

💔 FIVE YEARS LATER, HER FAMILY IS STILL WAITING FOR JUSTICE.

At the Sanctuary of Life Outreach Center, we believe Alexis deserves more than to be remembered as another name associated with gun violence.

We are committed to keeping Alexis’ legacy strong.

And we are standing with her family as they continue to seek justice.

This is not about revenge.

THIS IS ABOUT JUSTICE.

This is about accountability.

This is about answers.

This is about a family being able to know what happened to their loved one and seeing those responsible held accountable.

And Rock Hill, WE ALL HAVE A ROLE TO PLAY.

🌟 SOLO CENTER SHOUT-OUT 🌟

Today, we want to shine a special light on our sister, Jermeka!

Sister Jermeka Hunter has shown us what it looks like to keep moving forward, even when life gets hard. During one of the toughest moments of her life, she found strength she didn’t even know she had. Instead of allowing the pressure to stop her, she kept pushing, kept praying, and kept believing that there was more ahead of her.

Jermeka is a mother of four incredible children, with one in middle school and one in elementary school, and two in college. While making sure her children are cared for, encouraged, and prepared for their future, she is also pursuing her MASTER’S DEGREE! 🎓 That takes determination, discipline, sacrifice, and faith.

But what makes Jermeka even more special is that she doesn’t just receive from the SOLO Center… SHE GIVES BACK!

She serves in our Youth Department. She serves through our Outreach Ministry. She gives her time, her energy, and her heart. And if you know Jermeka, you already know she can throw down in the kitchen! She faithfully cooks for various SOLO Center events and continues to find ways to bless others.

Jermeka, we see you.

We see the mother.
We see the student.
We see the servant.
We see the woman who keeps showing up, even when life has given her every reason to sit down.

Your journey is a testimony that strength is not always about having it all together. Sometimes strength is simply saying, “I’m going to keep going.”

And Sister Jermeka, KEEP GOING!

Your children are watching. Your community is watching. The people you serve are watching. And most importantly, God sees every sacrifice, every late night, every tear, every prayer, and every time you chose not to give up.

The SOLO Center is proud of you!

Your story is still being written, and we believe the best is yet to come!
