The very first Christian martyrs. Innocent. Pure. Their lives were taken by King Herod. He was searching for Christ to extinguish Him. Unlike the wisemen who came to praise Him.

If taking the lives of the innocent wasn’t okay then, what makes people believe it’s okay now?

Allow this to be a reminder, God had one son without sin but he never had one without suffering.

The bridge between the Old and New Testament. John is the last of the Old Testament prophets. He gets to witness Christ himself. Even baptizing Him.

John would not stay silent. His testimony to the truth would cost him his life.

John the Baptist was unafraid. He did not fear the truth. He was not afraid to face adversity.

Put down the phone.
Who haven’t you heard from in a while? Take a minute and reach out. Go back to basics and write a letter. Or maybe write a letter to someone you see daily. You’d be surprised how your words might inspire someone.
A phone call or text might do. But people always remember letters.
