He Is Risen: The Rest of the Story
Sunday: They shouted “Hosanna!” and welcomed their King.
Friday: They screamed “Crucify Him!” and watched Him die.
Sunday: Everything changed.
The tomb is empty.
The stone was rolled away. The grave clothes were left behind. Death couldn’t hold Him. The King who rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, who hung on a cross on Friday, walked out of the tomb on Sunday morning.
This Is Why Palm Sunday Mattered
Jesus rode into Jerusalem knowing exactly where that road led. He set events in motion that couldn’t be reversed, not because He was trapped, but because He was determined to save us.
This Is Why Good Friday Mattered
When Jesus cried “It is finished,” He meant it. The debt was paid. The sacrifice was complete. Sin and death were defeated, not avoided, but conquered from the inside out.
And This Is Why Easter Changes Everything
The resurrection proved that Jesus is who He said He is. The cross wasn’t the end of the story, it was the turning point. Death wasn’t the final word, life is.
Because He lives, we can live. Because He rose, we can rise. Because He conquered death, death has no power over us.
The Crowd Got It Wrong. And So Do We Sometimes
They wanted a king who would fix their political problems. We often want a God who will fix our circumstances. But Jesus came to do something far greater: He came to fix our eternity.
He didn’t come to make bad people good. He came to make dead people alive.
From Palms to the Cross to the Empty Tomb
The journey from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday is the story of our salvation. A humble King. A brutal cross. An empty grave. A defeated enemy. A risen Savior.
He is the way, the truth, and the life. And today, we celebrate that He is alive.
“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.” - Matthew 28:6
Happy Resurrection Sunday! He is risen indeed!
