A CHECKLIST FOR THE CHURCH
A Look at the Seven Churches of Revelation 2–3

Jesus had a personal message for each of the seven churches in Revelation, and those messages still speak to the church today.

Over the next several Sunday evenings, we will examine Christ’s words to these churches and ask some important questions about our own hearts and our own church:

I am looking forward to our upcoming Revival Meeting! As I was preparing for the meeting by helping set things up in the pavilion, I began thinking about some of the preparation that all of us can do. We can prepare the building, arrange the chairs, make plans, and get everything ready; but the most important preparation is preparing our hearts for what God wants to do.

Revival is more than a series of special meetings; it is an opportunity for God to do a fresh work in our hearts. We can have the right schedule, hear great preaching, sing familiar hymns, and attend every service, yet miss what God desires to do personally in our lives.

The greatest need of revival is not somewhere else; it begins with us. It begins when we humble ourselves before God, examine our hearts, confess our sin, renew our commitment to Christ, and ask the Lord to stir us again.

As we enter these days of revival, I encourage you to:
Pray earnestly
Attend faithfully
Listen carefully
Respond obediently
Come to each service asking, “Lord, what do You want to change in me?”

I pray that God will revive our love for Him, renew our burden for the lost, restore our joy in serving Him, and rekindle a passion in our church to make a difference for Christ.

Revival begins when we stop asking God to change everyone else and allow Him to begin His work in us.

Habakkuk 3:2- O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years.
