🚫 YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE AN EVANGELIST.

“I wouldn’t know what to say.”

“What if they ask me something I can’t answer?”

“I’ve never shared the Gospel before.”

That’s okay. Come anyway.

Porchlight isn’t just for people who feel gifted in evangelism. It’s for anyone who wants to learn how to love people well and make Jesus known.

Our first official Porchlight outreach is Saturday, September 12th from 2–4PM, launching right from Home Base—the Urenas’ front porch.

We’ll head into our neighborhood together, meet the people around us, start conversations, offer prayer, share Jesus when we have the opportunity, and invite our neighbors to House Church that evening.

You can talk. You can pray. You can watch someone else and learn. The important thing is that you show up.

Because sharing Jesus can begin with something as simple as:

“Hey, is there anything we can pray for you about?”

There’s something special about gathering in a home with people who are becoming more than just people you see once a week - they’re becoming family.

That’s the heart behind House Church.

We want to create a place where people can genuinely know Jesus, know one another, and grow together. A place where we worship, dig into Scripture, pray for each other, share meals and conversations, laugh together, and learn what it means to actually live as disciples of Jesus.

And you’re invited into it.

Join us Saturday at 6PM in Riverhead. Whether you’ve been part of The Porch for years or this would be your very first night, you are welcome.

There’s something special about gathering around a table, sharing a meal, and simply doing life together.

Our next Community Dinner Night is Saturday, September 26th at 6pm, and whether you’ve been at every dinner we’ve ever had or this will be your very first one, there’s a seat for you at the table ❤️

This month’s theme is CROCKPOT NIGHT! And yes, we’re stretching the definition a little — Instant Pots and Dutch ovens are invited too 😂

Bring your favorite, tasty, tried-and-true recipe to share! The one your family always asks for. The one you know is going to be empty by the end of the night. Soups, chili, pulled pork, mac and cheese, dips, casseroles — whatever you love, bring it!

🥤 Don’t own a crockpot, Instant Pot, or Dutch oven? No problem at all. Bring drinks, a side, or a dessert of your choosing. Just let us know what you’re bringing when you sign up.

Please sign up through the link as soon as you can! It really helps us plan ahead by knowing how many people to prepare for and what food is already coming so we know what’s still needed.

This Thursday, September 10th from 5–9PM, Downtown Riverhead will come alive with tons of local vendors, great food, live entertainment, activities for the kids, and plenty of fun for the whole family!

And you know we’re bringing the coffee ☕️

What if outreach was simpler than we sometimes make it?

What if it started with noticing the person in front of you, listening to their story, offering to pray, and being willing to tell them about the Jesus who loves them?

That’s the heart of Porchlight.

Saturday, September 12th, we’re officially launching Porchlight right from Home Base—the Urenas’ front porch—and into our own neighborhood.

You don’t need special training. You don’t need the perfect words. And you definitely don’t need to be an “evangelist.”

Whether you’re an evangelism pro or you’ve never shared the Gospel with anyone before, this is for you. Come alongside us, watch, learn, pray, and step out when you’re ready.

House Church is one of the simplest and most important things we do at The Porch. We gather in a home because we believe following Jesus was never meant to be something we do alone. We need each other.

Every Saturday, we make space to slow down, worship Jesus together, open the Word of God, pray for one another, ask questions, share what God is doing in our lives, and simply enjoy being together.

You don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t have to know everyone. You don’t even have to know exactly what you believe yet. Just come. There’s a place for you here.

Schedules get busy. Life gets full. And sometimes genuine community is one of the first things to get pushed aside.

But we need each other.

We need women who will sit around the table with us, listen, encourage us, pray with us, and help us continue growing in our relationship with Jesus.

🎉☕️ ALIVE ON 25 IS THIS THURSDAY! And The Porch is heading downtown for the LAST Alive on 25 of the season! 🙌

From 5–9PM, Downtown Riverhead will be packed with local vendors, great food, live entertainment, activities for the kids, and plenty of fun for the whole family. It’s a great excuse to grab some friends, bring the family, and enjoy a night out together!

And of course, The Porch will be there serving coffee all night! ☕️ Stop by our booth, grab a cup, hang out with us, and say hello!
