Our Father’s Basket International

Our Father’s Basket International This is our response to the call of the Lord to care for the poor and to share Jesus with the lost. We have an incredible team in Uganda!

Our Father's Basket International is a nonprofit organization. Our purpose is to care for the poor and to share Jesus with the lost. In September of 2022, we began to finance a feeding program for children in Uganda, Africa with a contact we have there. We realized that just taking care of their immediate needs would only go so far. We needed to see what we could do for them in the larger picture.

That's when the Lord impressed on our hearts this plan to farm. We have recently leased 10 acres of farmland in a village in Uganda to grow maize (corn) and beans. There will be training during the planting season, and seeds will be given to people in the village to grow on their own properties as well. Some of the harvest of the crops will be used to feed the poor, and the rest will be sold to sustain the farm and to provide for the needs of the village, like school fees, medical expenses, and well repairs. They are all followers of Christ and dedicated to the work. Since farming will not begin until January, they have been traveling to the village where the farm is every week, preaching the gospel and getting the people excited for the coming work! The village is excited and has embraced our team and the project! The Lord is equipping us as we go, and we are trusting Him to provide us with the finances and wisdom to move forward. The name “Our Father’s Basket” is pointing to our FATHER as the Provider… Jehova Jireh 🙌🏼 The people are being taught that even the orphans have a Father who loves them, hears their cries, and cares for their needs. Psalm 145:14-19
“The Lord upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand; You satisfy the desire of every living thing. The Lord is righteous in all His ways and kind in all His works. The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear Him; He also hears their cry and saves them.“

There are two ways you can help! The first way is to pray consistently for the project and for the team. Pray for protection from the enemy. Pray for God's provision and that His will is done through us. Pray that His Spirit will move through the village in a mighty way! The second way you can help is through donations. There's a lot of work to do, but we need help financing it. If you feel compelled to give, may God bless you in your generosity! With love,
Nate and Jacki Grotberg

A Powerful Day at Our Father’s Basket 🌱🙏

Today we were blessed to receive special visitors—the leadership from Good Samaritan School.

They came to see the work being done here on the farm… and to learn.

What God is doing through Farming God’s Way is reaching beyond our fields. After seeing the impact, they asked for a program so they can teach these same principles at their school.

This is how change spreads—one seed, one lesson, one life at a time.

We’re not just growing food…
We’re growing knowledge, sustainability, and faith.

“The righteous will flourish like a palm tree… planted in the house of the Lord.” — Psalm 92:12-13

God is opening doors, and we’re walking through them.

Wednesday Night at Our Father’s Basket 🙏🌱

In the middle of the week… we gather.

No big buildings.
No fancy setup.
Just hearts hungry for God.

Out here in Uganda, choosing Jesus isn’t always easy—but that’s what makes it real. Faith is lived, not just talked about.

Tonight we worship, we pray, and we grow together in His Word.

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I with them.” — Matthew 18:20

Come be part of what God is doing.
Lives are being changed. Hope is growing. And it’s all for His glory.

The community is gathering 🙌
The Word is being shared 📖

This is what your support is doing in Uganda.

No big buildings. No fancy lights.
Just hearts hungry for God.

Even in a place where following Jesus takes real faith… they show up, they listen, and they worship.

The students come to the farm to work.

They plant.
They w**d.
They learn.

And in return, they go home with fresh vegetables for their meals this week. 🌱🥬

This is dignity. This is responsibility. This is God’s design — sowing and reaping.

“Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” – Galatians 6:7

We’re still meeting for Sunday service.

In America, that might not seem like a big deal. But in this region of Uganda, practicing Christianity takes real faith.

There aren’t churches on every corner. In fact, there aren’t any nearby at all.

So when we gather, it matters.

Through Our Father’s Basket International, this small village has a place to worship, to pray, and to grow in Jesus.

“Let us not give up meeting together…” – Hebrews 10:25

Faith here isn’t convenient.
It’s intentional.
And it’s powerful.

Full stomachs.
Grateful hearts.
Kids lining up to return their dishes after a meal grown right here through Our Father’s Basket. 🌾

This is more than food — it’s dignity, order, and God’s provision in action.

Planting.
Praying.
Mulching.

This is how harvest begins.

At Our Father’s Basket, we don’t just scatter seed and hope. We prepare the soil. We cover it. We protect it. And we pray over it.

Because harvest isn’t an accident — it’s obedience.

“The one who sows generously will also reap generously.” – 2 Corinthians 9:6

Every seed planted is a prayer.
Every layer of mulch is protection.
Every drop of sweat is faith in action.

We are trusting God not only for crops in the field…
but for growth in hearts, in families, and in this community.

Lord, bless the work of our hands and bring the increase. 🌾🙏
