Our Savior's love for each of us is the model for our love of others. "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others" [Philippians 2:3-4 NIV].

"Jesus restored a blind man’s sight in the city, according to the Bible, and fed thousands with five loaves of bread and two fish. Apostles Peter, Andrew and Philip are also believed to have called Bethsaida home. The Bethsaida-Julias excavation team has been digging the site at El-Araj since 2016 and has uncovered mosaic masterpieces, churches, house walls and more over the years."

It’s a testament to years of dedication.

"Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's" [Psalm 103:1-5 NIV].

"The chamber's incorporation into Constantine's fourth-century basilica also demonstrates that Christians were venerating it by that period. It does not establish whether the tradition can be traced continuously to the first century, but it provides evidence of an early and deliberate effort to preserve the location. 'Whether someone believes or not in the historicity of the Holy Sepulchre, the fact that generations of people did is objective,' Stasolla told The Times."

Excavations beneath Jerusalem’s Holy Sepulchre reveal a burial landscape resembling New Testament descriptions.

“Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name” (Psalm 86:11). What parts of your heart remain unconquered by your Lord Jesus and His love? Where do you serve Him only half-heartedly? Pray the psalmist's prayer for a whole-hearted devotion. Then serve the Lord with holy boldness, personally claiming His promise of forgiveness by faith.

“Justification occurs in heaven. A poor person, mourning over his sins, often does not know he has already been justified. He may continue to cry tears of repentance on earth while in heaven all the angels are already rejoicing over him. However, justification does not remain without effect on a person. Its first fruit is that such an individual is born again. He receives a new heart and a new mind that no longer loves sin but instead loves God and His Word. He now wishes to live a godly life.” [CFW Walther]

“When (the Christian) performs his earthly business, he does so with a mind directed toward God. He can no longer be indifferent as evil thoughts go through his mind. If they arise, he sighs and prays against them. He is hostile toward every sin. If, out of rashness and weakness, he falls into sin, he does not persist in it. Instead, he is ashamed. He confesses his sin to God and prays for forgiveness. He lets his fall serve as a warning, and he becomes more humble and watchful over himself.” [CFW Walther]

“In justification, as that person is declared by the heavenly Father to be His child for the sake of Christ's atonement, the Holy Spirit begins the work of sanctification in his heart. It may begin very slowly, but the transformation is real. The person who is justified becomes a completely different person. He begins to live for Jesus instead of for himself. Concern for the salvation of his soul busies his heart endlessly.” [CFW Walther]
