Ridge Spring United Methodist Church

Ridge Spring United Methodist Church The Ridge Spring United Methodist Church, 206. Dubose Street, Ridge Spring, SC. The church was built by members of the Spann and Batesburg Methodist Churches.

The Ridge Spring United Methodist Church was organized on February 3, 1882 as the Ridge Spring Methodist Episcopal Church South. The building reflects the skill of Caleb Watson, local carpenter. The inside walls and ceiling were designed of beaded, tongue and groove boards matched on the diagonal. The original building was a single auditorium with a central entrance. The vestibule and larger room

that was separated by folding doors were added in the late nineteenth century or earlier twentieth century and a steeple was built over the vestibule.

WEEK TWO
The story of the stained glass windows continues. by Mr Joe C Watson.

Going to your right, of the pulpit, is MR. & MRS. E. E. BUFFINGTON I never knew what his name was. We just called him "Buff". I think he came from somewhere in theMidwest, maybe St. Louis. He had led a varied career, including professional baseball at one time. I don't know how he came to Ridge Spring to marry Miss Ruth Chapman, and to have a store, service station, and feed mill where DerricksEquipment (Blanchard Equipment aka John Deere) is today. He later built the stone building across the street where he lived but never had a business. She grew up in the Lutheran Church, but both joined the Methodist Church. She was a very active and dedicated member o f the UMW.

A Prayer for Peace and Nation on this Memorial Day
"Almighty God, as our nation pauses to remember those who died in service to others, we recognize the conflicts that still plague our world. Today, we pray for peace. Bless this country, guide our leaders, and grant us the wisdom to uphold virtues of liberty, justice, and harmony. We ask this in Your holy name. Amen." 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
