The spiritual battle is real, but victory does not come through our own strength. In “Victory in Jesus II,” we continue studying Paul’s instruction to be strong in the Lord, put on the full armor of God, and stand firm against the schemes of the enemy (Ephesians 6:10–13).
Before we can stand confidently in battle, we must understand who we are in Christ. Through Jesus, we have been rescued from the power of darkness and redeemed through the forgiveness of our sins (Colossians 1:13–14). Although we were once dead in sin, God made us alive with Christ and saved us by His grace for the good works He prepared for us (Ephesians 2:4–10). We are no longer strangers but members of God’s household (Ephesians 2:19), and He wants us to understand the hope, riches, and inheritance we have received in Him (Ephesians 1:18).
Jesus defeated sin, death, and the devil through His death, burial, and resurrection, freeing those who had been held in bo***ge by the fear of death (Hebrews 2:14–15). Yet Scripture warns us to remain sober and vigilant because our adversary still seeks someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8).
The road to victory includes knowing who we are in Christ, relying on the power of His might, putting on the armor of God, and understanding the true nature of the battle. There is victory in Jesus!
