Let's keep this brother in our prayers!
PRAY FOR MY HUSBAND PLEASE! I've gone back and forth about posting this, because I know what I'm about to write will be controversial for some. But I am desperate for your prayers.
My husband has been terribly impacted by long c %d! He had a mild case of the illness in May and has never returned to normal. Bob's symptoms include extreme fatigue, brain fog, a myriad of cognitive issues, and irregular sleep rhythms, all of which are features of dysautonomia — a condition where the autonomic nervous system is dysregulated. Basically, his brain has its foot to the floor on the gas pedal and cannot find the breaks.
Bob has been under doctor's care for over eight weeks with little to no improvement. We have received a lot of advice from others who have walked this trail and some of it has been helpful. Most of it hasn't been, but not because people don't mean well. The hard fact is when it comes to this particular health condition, almost every single person responds to almost every single protocol differently. You simply have to find your body's preferred method of healing and wellness.
God has shown up very beautifully for me. He is a sustainer and a tower. He is peace and hope. My strength is supernatural. I'm discovering that you can, in fact, flourish when circumstances are far from ideal.
As for Bob, he had a bit of relief after a hundred people laid hands on him and prayed for him at the Grace Prep 20th anniversary gathering last weekend. He slept that night. And had a good day the next two days. Prayer does work. We both felt that. So, please reach out your hand in our direction and ask for God to touch my man. I miss him.
This weekend is my daughter's wedding and I would love for Bob to be able to enjoy it. He's been so excited about it.
Finally, if you know him, please send some courage. He's one of the bravest men I know. He's kicked down proverbial prison doors for other friends. And has sat hours and hours with men when they are in need. That's just who he is.
P.S. Don't text. His brain needs to be off his screens by doctor's recommendation. If you know him, you know his address. Remember good old snail mail?
